Last week on Mayans MC, we were reintroduced into Kurt Sutter’s world of biker gangs, this time on the Latin side. The Mayans MC were featured in the Sons of Anarchy pilot, and in return, the Sons (with a new leader) had a cameo in this pilot. Young Ezekial (EZ) Reyes (JD Pardo) is a prospect with a brother in the club, a butcher father (not of humans) who is sucked in somehow, a son and an ex who are now the family of a cartel leader, and a detective to whom he slips info to. This kid is in all kinds of trouble. And not because he’s in an MC, where everyone shoots up rivals or that they sell drugs through a dress shop front. Excited yet?

Warning! Spoilers for episode 2 below.

Sisters of Sorrow #1 is possibly one of the most violent comics I have read in months. So obviously I loved it from start to finish, of course. You know that saying that starts with “Hell hath no fury…” and has been around longer than we can remember? Yeah, it’s not wrong and this comic is a perfect reflection of that same righteous anger.

The Bastard Executioner
Season 1 Episode 10: “Blood and Quiescence/Crau a Chwsg”

Alas! This is the last review ever of The Bastard Executioner, as it was announced today that this FX drama was canceled.

Last week on The Bastard Executioner, the big reveal was that Annora is Wilkin’s mother and the Drak Mute his father. We had that inkling though. Kinda cruel then to cut down your own daughter-in-law and grandbaby. Wilkin, Corbett, Toran, et al. (Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer and Sam Spruell), went on a boys hunting party to capture Gaveston, so Lady Love (Flora Spencer-Longhurst) could gain money and control of her shire. There was a lot of bonding amidst the gore. The surviving twin tricked Ash (Darren Evans) and escaped, but she got hers in the end. Ash seems the one killing and setting up the pieces of corpses. They find Gaveston after Wilkin pretends to torture his host’s mistress, and have a fake trial that ends with head removal. Love threatens Jessamy (Sarah Sweeney) to stand down – death of she doesn’t, life of comfort if she does. Wilkin comes back and finds out that Father Ruskin (Timothy V. Murphy) and the boy were taken, which led to that big reveal. Toran is regretting his revenge plan.

‘The Bastard Executioner’ Canceled After One Season
  |  @   |

After just one season, FX has decided to cancel the period drama The Bastard Executioner from the creator of Sons of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter.

The decision was made because the show is a difficult and costly one to producer, and the ratings simply weren’t there or growing enough to move forward with a season two. Sutter himself understands the decision, and is making an effort to make sure everyone knows why the decision was made while also showing great appreciation for the work everyone has done in helping him make the show, even taking out an ad in the Hollywood trades to say thank you. You can see the ad and what else Sutter had to say about the cancellation below.
