This week only, Labyrinth, one of the most beloved classics of the 1980s, returns to movie theaters, thanks to Fathom Events. The film is the brainchild of three magnetic forces of entertainment: produced by George Lucas, directed by Jim Henson, and starring the incomparable David Bowie, Labyrinth appealed to anyone and everyone when it debuted in 1986.
This month, COMET TV, which streams free scifi movies and television shows, is hosting a marathon of Ray Harryhausen films, including The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Jason and The Argonauts, and more.
The network will also be showing the 1986 classic Labyrinth, starring Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Troll, Troll 2, and more, along with episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Back in 2014 came surprising word of a sequel to Jim Henson‘s 1986 feature Labyrinth. The sequel was quickly denied by sources, but no one ever knows if denials like that are because something is actually not happening or if word of it got out to the public before they were ready. A little over a year later the project surfaced again, this time with Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman, though she later said it was clickbait.
Now comes word of a new attempt. It’s being reported that the director behind 2013’s Evil Dead and last year’s Don’t Breathe, Fede Alvarez, has come on board to write and direct the Labyrinth sequel.
