‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’: Lucasfilm Explains Why They Fired Phil Lord and Chris Miller

When Lucasfilm fired directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller from Solo: A Star Wars Story, it came at a very bad time. The Star Wars spin-off was just about to be completed before the directors were given the axe due to creative reasons. Ron Howard would then step in as their replacement. But that even came with its own complications. While the “creative differences” excuse has been thrown around in situations like these, it appears there is some truth to it.

Emilia Clarke On Qi’ra’s History With Han In ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

Han Solo’s reputation as a dashing roguish smuggler precedes him. But as Solo: A Star Wars Story will tell us, he didn’t always start out that way. In it, we will get to see the Han’s (Alden Ehrenreich) early days as a young upstart rising up the ranks of the criminal underworld. Like most thieves, they start out learning the tricks of the trade at a very young age. And most of the time, they aren’t alone.

In the film Emilia Clarke‘s Qi’ra, the mysterious femme fatale of the spinoff, has a bit of history with Han. One that goes as far back as their childhood. Below, we will learn a little bit more about Qi’ra, and how she will help shape Han to become the legendary smuggler that we all know and love.

Get To Know The Smooth Talking Lando In ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

On Super Bowl Sunday, Solo: A Star Wars Story made a very impressionable entrance by revealing its first TV spot to the world. But it didn’t stop there. The first teaser trailer for the upcoming spinoff then dropped, giving fans another taste of what’s to come. And now, Solo has been making the press rounds, revealing whatever details they can.

In the past few days, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has talked about what kind of film it is, while actor Alden Ehrenreich talked about what kind of Han Solo we would see in the film. New ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Images Detail Han’s Rise In the Criminal Underworld

Earlier today we got our very first details for Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film will follow the early days of the roguish smuggler before he helped the Rebels in their cause to overthrow the Empire.

In what is being described as a “western crossed with a film noir, freighted with offbeat humor and set in the criminal underbelly of a galaxy being torn apart,” we are learning a little more about Han Solo, his motivations, and what kind of character he will become before we meet up with him at the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars: A New Hope. Han Solo Standalone Film Now Called ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’

These Star Wars spinoffs are a part of the larger universe and are meant to tell stories that aren’t about the core saga. We saw a little bit of that in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and we will see that once more in the Han Solo standalone film, which has been going by that non-title since the beginning of production and well after Ron Howard came in to direct the film.

But now the film has got an official title. So prepare yourselves, because come May 2018, we will see Solo: A Star Wars Story. More on the this below.
