Universal Pictures has released the second trailer for Melina Matsoukas‘ (HBO’s Insecure) Queen And Slim, from writer Lena Waithe, and starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith. The film centers on a black man (Kaluuya) and a black woman (Smith) who get pulled over for a minor traffic infraction and become the victims of racial profiling. Soon, the situation escalates to a point where the black man is forced to kill the police officer in self-defense. As a result, the two are now on the run, but they also become symbols for the people who suffer the same atrocities of systemic racism. A sort of modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.

The film stars Get Out‘s Daniel Kaluuya and newcomer Jodie Turner-Smith in what can be best described as a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde tale, but with a “consciousness-raising love story” twist “that confronts the staggering human toll of racism and the life-shattering price of violence.” Check out the trailer here below.

Ready Player One is pure madness. Steven Spielberg‘s latest film is an unrelenting barrage of pop culture references that will leave you broken, battered, and barely alive. It may be narratively thin, but the visuals are just so beautiful you won’t even care what’s going on. And as crazy as it sounds, the film manages to have some nice layers to it.

There is also a great underlying message that almost gets lost in the chaos, but somehow, Spielberg is able to bring it all together and give us one spellbinding feature of nostalgia. Check out my full review of the film below.
