Opening Night: March 23, 2014

In Les Miserables, Jean Valjean is released from prison after 19 years for stealing bread for his hungry sister’s child. He cannot shake prisoner “24601” as promised by his lifelong nemesis, Javert. Unable to find work, he falls back into a life of crime, but is saved by the bishop he stole from, who urges him to “use this precious silver, to become an honest man.”

Valjean ends up transforming himself into Mayor Lumiere, who is well-respected by everyone, including Javert, who doesn’t recognize him. Inadvertently causing poor Fantine to lose her job, and forcing her into a life of prostitution until she succumbs to sickness, Valjean realizes he needs to make right by the newly orphaned daughter of Fantine, Cosette, while simultaneously avoiding Javert, who is now after him with renewed force.

Hugh Jackman Sings ‘Wolverine: The Musical’ Song (Video)

With April Fools’ Day tomorrow you might think this is an early joke based on that headline, but I assure you it is not.

While Wolverine: The Musical is obviously not a real thing, Hugh Jackman was recently a guest on The Matt Edmondson Show on BBC Radio and dusted off his Oscar-nominated Jean Valjean voice from Les Miserables for a new rendition of the song “Who Am I?” custom made for the nonexistent Wolverine musical.

Mondo Posters For This Year’s Academy Award Nominated Films

Last year, Mondo debuted a collection of Academy Award-nominated posters that were released at random times during the Oscar ceremony. Like all their poster releases, it was a success, so they are doing it again this year.

Once again multiple artists have drawn up their vision of the nominated films and we’ve got the first three Olly Moss, Laurent Durieux, and DKNG that will go on sale this Sunday during the broadcast of the Academy Awards. The first three films featured are Les Miserables, Paranorman, and The Master. Check them out here below, along with details about each poster, including specs and pricing.

Academy & Gallery 1988 Team Up To Create Posters For Best Picture Nominees

The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has partnered up with the people of Gallery 1988 and fellow artists to commission creating posters for the 2013 Best Picture Nominees. Oscar.com revealed the poster specs, which could mean that these posters could go on sale. And if you are a cinephile, a fan of any of these movies, or love to collect posters created by independent artists, then you should be hoping that these go on sale, because these posters look great.

Check out the posters of all nine of the nominees below and don’t forget to tell us which ones you would like to have hang on your walls.
