‘Lights Out’ Trailer: New Horror Produced By ‘Insidious,’ ‘The Conjuring’ Director James Wan

A trailer has been released for Lights Out, a new horror movie produced by James Wan, the director of the original Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. The movie is directed by David F. Sandberg, who makes his feature debut, based on his own short film of the same name.

The movie stars Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Billy Burke, Alexander DiPersia, Maria Bello, Lotta Losten, Amiah Miller, Andi Osho, and Ava Cantrell and follows a woman and her brother as they deal with something terrifying hiding in the darkness.

Massive Metal Monday: “Lights Out” By UFO

With the title track of their barn-burner 1977 album Lights Out, here is the classic lineup of UFO – watch the video here below.

This performance was filmed live at the Roundhouse Theater in London on June 12, 1977 and features guitar legend Michael Schenker laying down one of rock’s most iconic solos. If you like this, be sure to check out the band’s 1979 release Strangers in the Night, which many people (myself included) consider to be the greatest live album ever recorded.

When Lights Out begins, Patrick ‘Lights’ Leary (Holt McCallany) isn’t a man that is going to go through life with his hands tied behind his back. Five years after a career-ending fight, the former heavyweight champion is out of the game, but is content with living a life in suburbia with his wife (Catherine McCormack) and three daughters as he plays house dad in what seems to be the picture perfect post-career life.

However, as the series premiere progresses, we learn this is far from true. Lights has more problems than a simple boxing match. The poor economic situation has eroded away most of his fortune, his brother is getting into various debts, and his gym is a monetary sinkhole.

But one thing hasn’t changed throughout all this: Lights isn’t going to quit. He’s a fighter and he’ll do what needs to be done.
