‘The Conjuring’ Trailer: Clingy Spirit Would Love To Consume Souls
  |  @   |

The first trailer for The Conjuring focused on a family off to a brand new start by settling in a new home. Trouble is the home was possessed by unkind spirits who weren’t too keen on playing hide and go seek. Now a new trailer for the James Wan‘s latest directorial effort centers on the real life paranormal activity investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren (played by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson) and the unholy spirit that seeks to terrify the family and the Warrens.

Once again, Wan chooses to do away with the scares that overemphasize the blood and gore by focusing his frightful attention on the suspense aspect. The shrieks, off-angled appearances by the spirit, and other terrors in this new trailer are just the tip of this scary iceberg. The taglines and the music signify that there is something deeper and more terrifying than WB is actually letting on.

‘The Conjuring’ Trailer: If You’re Scared Of James Wan Movies and You Know It, Clap Your Hands
  |  @   |

James Wan knows how to scare his audience, as evidenced by his previous films, Saw and Insidious, the latter of which has a sequel currently in production. But before he started to work on Insidious Chapter 2, he directed a film called The Conjuring, and as you can guess by the title, it is a horror. However, unlike his previous works, this film is based on a true story.

Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Patrick Wilson (Insidious) star in The Conjuring, which is about about two paranormal investigators hired to investigate strange activity at a Rhode Island house in a very remote location. Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston play the homeowners who called Farmiga and Wilson for their help.

NYCC 2012: James Wan’s Haunted Horror Film ‘The Conjuring’
  |

The Conjuring, a prospective cinematic scarefest etched in the same vein as The Amityville Horror, made the panel rounds at the IGN Theater on Saturday during this year’s New York Comic-Con.

The story, which is based on true events, focuses on a duo of paranormal investigators set to give aid to a family terrorized by a dark, ominous presence in a farmhouse squarely planted miles from anyone else. The investigators, held in the threshold of the demonic energy manifesting itself in the farmhouse, which turns out to be a witch, find themselves in the thick of what is sure to be one of the most challenging and difficult cases they have ever had to endure.

Moderated by the always hilarious and gregarious Chris Hardwick and sporting a shirt with an embroidered NASA logo (!), the panel consisted of director James Wan (Saw, Insidious) – who explained about the film’s narrative – and stars Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, and Patrick Wilson.
