J.J. Abrams With Star Wars: The Force Awakens X-Wing

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is 10 months away from its December 18 release, and though production is already completed, we are still no closer to knowing what the film is about. Besides the teaser trailer released back in November; the extremely short character bios with the online trading cards; and that ball droid BB-8 is a practical Effect, most of what we think we know about the Star Wars sequel is based on the many rumors and supposed spoilers that have surfaced online. Now, director J.J. Abrams is coming out to say that “some” of the rumors are true.

In a recent interview, Abrams addresses those spoilers and understands why some people may read them. Hit the jump for the quotes.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Principal photography for Star Wars: Episode VII wrapped last Friday, but it still left fans wondering what the subtitle of the film will be. If anything the Star Wars titles tell us a lot about the film, but considering how secretive director J.J. Abrams can be and how tight security was on set, whatever the subtitle is revealed to be, it will only be a look through a very small keyhole.

The official Star Wars twitter account tweeted out a very interesting image today that reveals the full name of this much-awaited sequel.

J.J. Abrams With Star Wars: Episode VII X-Wing

Normally set photos don’t tell us much besides giving us a behind the scenes look at a production of a film. These photos are a dime a dozen, and generally come from pedestrians or production crew who were given the social media green light. But when it comes to set photos for Star Wars: Episode VII, it’s something that should be turning heads.

We already know that J.J. Abrams will be using practical effects for the highly anticipated film, meaning there won’t be as much CGI, and iconic ships like the Millennium Falcon and X-Wing fighters will be built from the ground up. But with these sets closely guarded from prying eyes, it will be hard for set photos to be leaked. Unless you are taking these photos from the sky above. A flight school managed to discover where these two ships are being built, and took a photo of them. Hit the jump to check it out.

Han Solo header image

Star Wars: Episode VII isn’t off to a great start. Not that there is trouble with the cast or anything behind the scenes, it’s just the injury Harrison Ford suffered while on set recently. Nearly two weeks ago, Ford was injured while on the set of the Millennium Falcon, his character Han Solo’s famed spaceship, and it reportedly had something to do with the ship’s door. Initially, LucasFilm stated Ford “sustained an ankle injury,” but it turned out to be something much worse. The 71-year-old actor actually suffered a broken leg and needed surgery. If it is as bad as it is being reported, he could be out for more than just a couple of weeks; in fact, he could be out for months. This isn’t good news for the production as it may be forced to push the film’s release all the way to 2016. Hit the jump for more details.
