Syfy’s Dominion Cancelled After Only 2 Seasons
  |  @   |

Syfy has certainly broken my heart. One of my favorite shows, a little jewel I discovered just after its first season aired has been cancelled. Dominion, based on 2010s Legion, was set 25 years after angels fell to Earth and warred with mankind – the war that began on Christmas Day, 2016. The Chosen One, Alex (Christopher Egan) grew up protected by the Archangel Michael (Tom Wisdom), who believed it was God’s will. He often fought his own brother, the archangel Gabriel (the delighfully evil Carl Beukes) who wanted mankind destroyed.

Last week’s Dominion was completely bananas, and the best Dominion I have ever seen. Darkness-infused Gabriel (Carl Beukes) set the Amphora upon Vega, and everyone started hallucinating, except Alex (Christopher Egan). Just another benefit of chosen one tattoos. Everyone pretty much went batshit crazy. Claire saw her baby and a world where she and Alex and Willow (the baby) were a happy family. David (Anthony Head) had a noose around his neck when he was saved at the last minute… by an 8-Ball version of himself. 8-Ball David taunts and torments real David. Arika has a role reversal, and finds herself chained and called 8-Ball by Claire (Roxanne McKee) and Rose (remember Rose?). The picture of her mother almost haunts her, and she almost kills herself. William Whele (Luke Allen-Gale) has visions of Gabriel, Claire, and lastly Alex telling him he is not the chosen one. Late to the party (the Amphora affects angels more slowly) are Noma (Kim Engelbrecht), who thinks her wings are back, to the point where she finds the Amphora and wants to fly away with it, and Michael (Tom Wisdom), who has visions of Noma killing Alex. That made him want to kill her. When Alex finally closed the Amphora, everyone was shaken and regretful.

TV Review: Dominion 2.11 “Bewilderment Of Heart”

Dominion
Season 2 Episode 11: “Bewilderment of Heart”
Directed by Gregg Simon

Created by Vaun Wilmott
Starring Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Anthony Head, Luke Allen-Gale, Carl Beukes, Shivani Ghai, Christopher Egan
Syfy

Last week on Dominion, we lost Gates (Nic Bishop) in an extreme act of sacrifice, just when he and Alex (Christopher Egan) were on the sweet side of competitive bonding. General Riesen (Alan Dale) switched over to the angel side of dyad-ism after Gabriel executed Clementine. The human part of him could not handle the pain. Michael plays poker with the Prophet for his soul and Mallory, Alabama. Luckily he wins, but that luck will not hold out for long. William Whele (Luke Allen-Gale) allowed David (Anthony Head) to be captured by Claire (Roxanne McKee). Gabriel (Carl Beukes) dropped the Amphora into the city of Vega.

Starring Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Anthony Head, Luke Allen-Gale, Carl Beukes, Nic Bishop, Shivani Ghai, Christopher Egan
Syfy

Last week on Dominion, Michael, Noma, and Alex (Tom Wisdom, Kim Engelbrecht, and Christopher Egan) make their way into Vega with Claire’s (Roxanne McKee) help, and then everybody’s feelings get confused. Dominion showed us the softer side of Arika (Shivani Ghai -in the way way past), and it makes her ruthlessness a bit more understandable now. Julian (Simon Merrells) amphora-sizes Gabriel (Carl Beukes) in an effort to take over his body, but we knew that couldn’t happen, right? Now Gabriel is pure evil, and Julian barely escapes with his life. Michael passes out and meets The Prophet in his mind (which also happens to be in Mallory, Alabama).

Syfy

Last week on Dominion, Alex (Christopher Egan) proved even chainsaw wielders are no match again him. But a mob of 8-Balls might be, so Michael (Tom Wisdom) swooped in and saved him and Noma (Kim Engelbrecht). Julian (Simon Merrells) changes tactics with hostage Gabriel (Carl Beukes), and decides to torture him via sexy hallucinations. What does he imagine? An orgy with Arika (Shivani Ghai), Claire (Roxanne McKee), and Noma. Not a terrible way to be broken. William Whele (Luke Allen-Gale) is back and preaching about being chosen by God. We flashbacked to General Riesen’s (Alan Dale) past and got an awesome look at the beginning of this dystopia. I can understand why he succumbed and agreed to become a dyad. Claire’s people get the drop on Zoe’s (Christina Chong), and she is badly hurt. David (Anthony Head) and Arika’s treachery is found out. He’s arrested and she runs away, but not before she slips a little poison into Gates (Nic Bishop) glass. Claire goes to Zoe’s cell and shoots her in the head.
