Bay Area thrash titans Machine Head are set to release their highly anticipated new album Bloodstone & Diamonds next Monday, November 10th in North America, but for a limited time they are streaming the album in its entirety over at their label Nuclear Blast’s YouTube channel.

After only a single listen to the album, it is clear to me that the album is an instant classic that continues Machine Head’s tradition of producing top notch thrash. Check it out here below, and stay tuned for my full album review.

Thrashback Thursday: “Davidian” By Machine Head
  |  @   |

When Oakland’s Machine Head burst onto the scene in 1994, their debut album Burn My Eyes helped breathe life back into a floundering thrash metal scene. Along with Pantera, Machine Head would carry the torch of metal through much of the ’90s.

After a two album diversion into nu metal territory around the turn of the millennium and several lineup changes, Machine Head would return to their original course and go on to be one of the biggest bands, not only in thrash, but metal overall. Machine Head are set to release their eighth studio album Bloodstone & Diamonds on November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records and, based on the advance tracks, it may be one of the best albums of the year.

Here with the opening track of Burn My Eyes is Machine Head with the official video for “Davidian.” It is a song that Machine Head leader Robb Flynn wrote about a violent confrontation with an Oakland street gang, framed against the events that had just unfolded in Waco with David Koresh and his Branch Davidian compound.

Watch the official video for “Davidian” here below.

Machine Head Postpone North American Tour In Order To Meet New Record’s Release Date
  |  @   |

Disappointing news out of the Machine Head camp this week as the band has announced that they will be postponing their entire Fall North American tour with Battlecross and Epica so that they may finish up production on their upcoming record.

Machine Head is set to release their 8th album, Bloodstone & Diamonds (their first for Nuclear Blast Entertainment), on Nov 7th in Europe and Nov 10th in the U.S. and UK, but apparently their is still some work to be done in order to meet those dates.

Machine Head Announce New Album Title, Tour Dates
  |  @   |

Still no word on a release date, but at least Machine Head has finally given us the title and artwork for their highly anticipated new album. The follow-up to their 2011 monster hit Unto The Locust is to be titled Bloodstone and Diamonds.

The album will be the first to feature new bassist Jared MacEachern. The band split very publicly and acrimoniously with founding bassist Adam Duce and have been embroiled in a nasty lawsuit with him that was recently settled out of court on undisclosed terms.
