Netflix has released an official trailer for Tau, a sci-fi thriller coming to the streaming service later this month.
The movie stars Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Guest) as a woman who’s kidnapped and held prisoner by a technology expert and inventor (played by Ed Skrein) who uses her as a test subject in his high-tech house, which is controlled by an artificial intelligence named Tau (voiced by the great Gary Oldman, who recently won an Academy Award for his work in Darkest Hour).

But if you can’t wait for the movie to release in just about a month, 20th Century Fox has released a giant of a new extended trailer, which clocks in at a little under five minutes in length.

Alita: Battle Angel has been one of James Cameron‘s long-gestating projects. The adaptation has taken somewhat of a backseat with Cameron focusing on his Avatar sequels. Despite the filmmaker declaring that the film would have to be pried out of his cold dead hands, it has been given to Robert Rodriguez – much to Cameron’s approval.
With Rodriguez in the driver’s seat, the film can proceed that much closer to production, and it seems as they are close to finding an actress to play the lead role. According to new reports, Maika Monroe, Zendaya, Rosa Salazar, and Bella Thorne are the new frontrunners for the title role. More on the story below.
Of all the days to drop a trailer, 20th Century Fox decided today, Earth Day, a day to celebrate Mother Earth, to drop the newest trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence. It was 20 years ago since the first film was released, where aliens nearly annihilated the world with their destructive force. Since their defeat, humans have been able to adapt their technology to modify their own military forces. However, the aliens they defeated were only the welcoming committee, as they have returned with an even more powerful weapon than the one they had unleashed on us two decades ago.
Roland Emmerich returns to his directing post. Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, and Brent Spiner are also back to reprise their respective roles. They will all be joined by newcomers Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, and Jessie Usher. Check out the newest trailer here below.
