SyFy’s latest series Blood Drive is the lovechild of James Roland, a tearful ode to grindhouse exploitation cinema of the 70s and 80s. Last week on the series premiere, we were dropped head first into the rotating gears of a dystopian future after a huge fracking earthquake rips the US apart, resulting in a world where gas is obscenely expensive, and cars run on blood. There is an evil all-powerful corporation, Heart Enterprises, and when two cops stumble onto Julian Slink (Colin Cunningham) and his Blood Drive death race, things do not end up well for them. Arthur is thrown into the race, while Christopher ends up knee deep in robot clones.

Last week on Dominion, Michael, Noma, and Alex (Tom Wisdom, Kim Engelbrecht, and Christopher Egan) make their way into Vega with Claire’s (Roxanne McKee) help, and then everybody’s feelings get confused. Julian (Simon Merrells) amphora-sizes Gabriel (Carl Beukes) in an effort to take over his body, but we knew that couldn’t happen, right? Now Gabriel is pure evil, and Julian barely escapes with his life. Michael passes out and meets The Prophet in his mind (which also happens to be in Mallory, Alabama).

Michael (Tom Wisdom) and Gabriel (Carl Beukes) are reunited, and after some fighting, decide to join together to defeat Julian (Simon Merrells). Back in New Delphi, Alex (Christopher Egan) and Noma (Kim Engelbrecht) find out that Julian is a dyad (half-human, half-angel), and is in posession of a jar of death that can can put lower angels into humans.
