Original Stars Marc Singer, Jane Badler To Join ABC’s ‘V’
  |  @   |

According to sources, Marc Singer will be joining the cast of ABC’s alien invasion series, V. Singer is no stranger to that world, as the actor played the lead role of Mike Donovan on the original V, which aired in the ’80s. The actor, who is perhaps best known from his lead role in The Beastmaster, will be playing Lars Tremont, one of the members of a secret organization consisting of top military and government leaders from all over the world

This goes along with the news that Jane Badler, who also starred as Diana in the original series opposite of Singer, will be joining the cast of the ABC’s reboot. Badler will take on the role of the evil mother of Anna, played by fanboy favorite Morena Baccarin of Firefly and Serenity fame, and she’ll make her debut on the January 4, 2011 premiere of season 2.

Science Fiction Series ‘V’ To Attempt Return To TV
  |  @   |

ABC has ordered a pilot based on the 1984 sci-fi TV series V.

The original series, which starred Marc Singer (Beastmaster), dealt with the fight to avoid an alien invasion and attempted take-over of Earth. More specifically, it dealt with an agent who captures an alien named Diana, who is then put on trial for her actions. The new version is expected to revolve around a female Homeland Security agent, meaning the alien will likely be male this time around and Homeland Security will ironically be involved in keeping actual aliens out. The V stands for The Visitors.

The pilot for V will be a spec script by Scott Peters and produced by Warner Brothers Television. The original show aired 19 episodes from 1984 to 1985 and was proceeded preceded by a TV miniseries.
