‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Post-Credits Stinger Will Be ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Scene
  |

(I used to love that game.)

Spider-Man has teamed up with the X-Men countless times in the comics and video games and on Saturday morning television. Yet the odds of the two Marvel Comics properties uniting on the silver screen has long seemed unlikely due to different movie studios owning their rights and being heavily reticent to crossovers.

In a somewhat unprecedented move, however, it’s been revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will feature as its post-credits highlight a special preview of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

New ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Images Give Us A Close Look At The New Goblin Glider
  |  @   |

The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series showed us that there was a connection between the Vulture’s Tech Flight Suit and Goblin’s Glider. In the past few trailers we’ve seen for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we see the mysterious man walk by two high-tech supersuits that resemble Doctor Octopus’ arms and Vulture’s wings.

Now newly released images show how closely related the two are because the resemblance is uncanny. Hit the jump to check out the new images of Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin/Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) holding on to some web for dear life, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) embracing Gwen Stacy, The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) preparing for battle, and much more.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Final Trailer Wants To Catch A Spider
  |  @   |

With the massive marketing that is going into The Amazing Spider-Man 2, one has to ask: is there anything left to see in the theater? The trailers, the clips, the Super Bowl spots, the TV spots, not to mention the viral marketing, makes it feel as though Sony has burned through everything stopping short of showing the entire film.

The third and supposedly final trailer lays down the gauntlet by revealing the three villains that will appear in the film. But before you think being inundated with three villains is going to be Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 all over again, director Marc Webb has said that Rhino (Paul Giamatti) will appear in the film for only a few minutes, and that Max Dillion aka Electro (Jamie Foxx) will be the main villain. The trailer actually does a great job of digging deeper into Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and Harry Osborn’s (Dane DeHaan) complex friendship.

Hit the jump to watch the final trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

‘Amazing Spider-Man 3’ To Be Marc Webb’s Last; James Mangold Shoots ‘Wolverine 3’ After ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
  |  @   |

There’s the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and then there’s everything else. For everything that falls under the latter, Sony and Fox are trying to establish their own cinematic universes and keep a tight grip on their respective Marvel properties. Sony already has plans to build a universe around the new Amazing Spider-Man franchise by launching spinoff films, while Fox is creating a world around X-Men and Fantastic Four, with the possibility of the two merging into one universe.

With Sony already working on spinoffs, the studio will have to look into finding a new director after The Amazing Spider-Man 3, as it has been confirmed that director Marc Webb will leave the franchise after the trilogy. On the X-Men side of things, The Wolverine director James Mangold confirms that he will begin shooting the tentatively titled The Wolverine 2 after X-Men: Apocalypse. Hit the jump for more.

SXSW: ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Glut Of Villains Addressed By Marc Webb (Minor Spoilers)
  |

As promotional material, trailers, and posters began to emerge for Marc Webb’s upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which featured shots of main villain Electro along with Green Goblin, Rhino, and allusions to Vulture and Doc Ock, fans began to worry, and rightly so, that too many characters were being shoehorned in. Comparisons to Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, which featured Sandman, Venom, and New Goblin, were immediately made and not in a good way.

This weekend at South By SouthWest (SXSW), Webb was at a Q&A where an attendee brought up the Spider-Man 3 comparison and the concerns of the movie being undone by having too many villains. Webb responded in kind, which you read below. This comes with some minor spoilers, so proceed with caution.
