All the Money in the World

News of Mark Wahlberg taking a $1.5 million paycheck for his reshoots on Ridley Scott‘s All the Money in the World came as a shock to many, especially when his co-star Michelle Williams was only paid 1% of that. Details of the staggering wage gap only got darker when it was reported that Wahlberg would only approve of Christopher Plummer, who was to be Kevin Spacey‘s replacement, if he got paid a large sum of money. It was a polarizing subject, with some saying Wahlberg was greedy, while others criticized Williams for not asking enough. To make matters worse, both are represented by the same agency, WME.

However, in order to quell an already volatile situation, Wahlberg has donated his $1.5 million paycheck to the Time’s Up movement. Plus, Williams has released a statement responding to the donation. More on the story below.

All The Money in the World

After Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual assault last year, the actor was taken off numerous projects from his Master Class to House of Cards. But the one move that made shockwaves was when Ridley Scott decided to reshoot all of Spacey’s scenes in All the Money in the World and replace him with Christopher Plummer. It was a daunting task. And one that proved to be costly. But the film ended up being recognized by many for Scott’s ability to complete the reshoots in nine to ten days, and still release the film on its original release date.

The reshoots were only one part of the story, however. It’s how much the film’s co-stars were paid that is making headlines now. According to various reports, the pay between Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg was staggeringly different. The former was only paid a mere $80 dollars per day, while the latter took home a near $2 million paycheck. More on this story below.

Daddy's Home 2

A lot of holiday films are pretty much run-of-the-mill and forgettable. A way to make a quick buck by means of using some A-listers in a generic comedy. And while most do even get a sequel, Daddy’s Home proved to be the exception to that rule. Daddy’s Home 2 reunites Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell for another screwball comedy where the slapstick and family friendly comedy is bigger. And of course with all sequels, you’re suppose to go bigger.

So they brought in the likes of John Lithgow and Mel Gibson to play their fathers. Gibson playing Dusty’s (Wahlberg) father, and Lithgow playing Brad’s (Ferrell) father. Both are the spitting image of their kids, and now things are about to get more complicated as Brad and Dusty decided to spend Christmas together. Check out the latest trailer for the film below.
