SDCC 2012: ‘Frankenweenie’ Panel With Tim Burton

Frankenweenie, the upcoming Tim Burton vehicle which has been a pet project for him since his inception as a filmmaker/animator almost three decades ago, first appearing as a short and now finding its way as a full length feature, had its debut today at Comic-Con.

Hosted by Chris Hardwick and first introduced by some 3D footage of the upcoming production which was akin to an old Universal Pictures trailer, replete with black and white and overblown narration, Frankenweenie is a film about a boy’s resurrection of his beloved dog.

Watch Now: Second Trailer For Tim Burton’s Stop-Motion Feature ‘Frankenweenie’

This summer, audiences didn’t seem to show much affection towards Tim Burton‘s Dark Shadows, and rightfully so, since the film was critically panned. Now that that film is behind him, Burton is now turning his attention to Frankenweenie.

The teaser trailer was released back in March, and now a new trailer for the film has arrived online, giving a more in depth look at the story. You can see the new trailer below.

New Character Images From Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ Released

Some new character images have been released for the upcoming Tim Burton stop-motion flick, Frankenweenie, which will hit theaters on October 5, 2012.

The movie is an adaptation of Burton’s own short live-action movie of the same name, and reunites the director with many talents he’s worked with in the past, including actors Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Martin Landau, and Winona Ryder, as well as writer John August.

Watch Now: Teaser Trailer For Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ Released

The first teaser trailer for Disney and director Tim Burton‘s stop-motion animated feature, Frankenweenie, has found its way online by way of Yahoo! Movies.

The movie is an extension of Burton’s 1984 short film of the same name, telling the story of a boy named Victor Frankenstein who attempts to bring his dog back to life.

Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie’ Gets An Official Logo, Synopsis

For those who don’t know, director Tim Burton made a short film back in 1984 about a boy who loses his dog and brings it back to life called Frankenweenie.

Now Burton is working on an adaptation of that very same short film (which can be seen here), this time using the stop–motion animation techniques used in other films Burton has directed or produced, such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. And at the ongoing Disney D23 Expo, an official logo, synopsis, and special notes about the movie have been released.
