The film ranked 55th on the American Film Institute’s 100 years, 100 movies list as well 4th in their list of 100 Thrilling American Films. Debuting in theaters a year after Hitchcock’s classic Vertigo, and a year before he changed the game of horror with Psycho, North By Northwest in unique in the sense, the three years before James Bond burst onto the scene in Dr. No, North By Northwest created the template for the famed spy-hero. Now, thanks to Turner Classic Movies and Fathom Events, North By Northwest is in theaters for one more day as part of TCM’s Big Screen Classics series.

New ‘Frankenweenie’ Featurette Video Released
A short new featurette has been released looking at the making of Tim Burton’s upcoming stop-motion feature, Frankenweenie.
The video discusses how personal the project is to Burton, the actors involved—including Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, and Martin Landau—and who they’re playing, and looks at some of the puppets and sets used for filming.

‘Frankenweenie’ Trailer: Tim Burton’s Tribute To Classic Horror Films
As you saw from our reaction post made earlier today, we are pretty excited for Frankenweenie.
It’s a Tim Burton film that blends classic horror motifs (mostly from Frankenstein) with stop-motion animation and 3D effects. We’ve already seen two trailers for Frankenweenie, but none of them paid homage to the classic horror films the way this new retro trailer does.
