Wade Wilson’s War #1 (of 4)
Written by: Duane Swierczynski
Art by: Jason Pearson
Marvel
Price: $3.99
Release Date: June 9, 2010
Well Deadpool fans, here is another treat for you, a Marvel Knights miniseries. In Deadpool Wade Wilson’s War we are thrown head first into an ongoing Senate trial where Deadpool is testifying what led to a massacre killing hundreds. The story set up is quite interesting since you already pretty much know the outcome, which leads me to believe there is going to be some sort of twist.
Duane Swierczynski definitely understands how to utilize Deadpool to his strengths which leads to comedy gold. I really love that he narrates the flashbacks and the people in them can hear him doing it and are weirded out by it. He even tells them he is doing it for a Senate hearing that won’t even happen until their mission is over. I definitely enjoyed the cast of characters Swierczynski uses in this story from Bullseye to SIlver Sable to Domino, they are all highly enjoyable.

Like it or not, more and more it is obvious that geek is in vogue and that will not change anytime soon. That being said the plethora of shows and films continues to grow with the announcement of a release date for an upcoming weekly animated series starring one of the Avengers’ big guns, the Black Panther.
Episode 1 of the series, titled Black Panther: Who Is The Black Panther?, will be available for download starting June 23, 2010. The 12-episode series from Marvel Knights Animation is based on the graphic novel of the same title written by Reginald Hudlin with art by the power house of talent John Romita Jr.
One of the more interesting bits of news regarding this animated series is that it will be released through iTunes, Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Zune, and PlayStation® Network. So it is becoming more and more evident that the internet is a viable medium for comic animation and motion comics. Of course this leads to the question of how well can this sell without the proper advertisement and pushing it to non comic fans. Of course comic fans will probably see ads in their comics or will read websites that release this news, but will main stream audiences even hear about this at all? Can this lead to a bigger adaptation on the big screen?

Shout! Factory To Release More Marvel Animated Titles
Shout! Factory will be expanding on their previous relationship with Marvel Animation by releasing a series of titles under the Marvel Knights banner.
On July 13, The Super Hero Squad Show will be released on DVD, then it will be followed by releases of the Astonishing X-Men: Gifted motion comic, the Spider-Woman motion comic, the Iron Man: Extremis motion comic, and the previously unaired Black Panther series produced by BET. More titles are still to be announced.
I am really excited about these releases. I watched several installments of the Spider-Woman comic and the first installment of the Astonishing X-Men: Gifted motion comic. Also, I have really enjoyed The Super Hero Squad Show with its “kiddie” versions of Marvel Comics heroes.
