Starring Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Sam Underwood, Valerie Cruz, Jessica Stroup, Michael Ealy, Zuleikha Robinson

Last week on The Following, Ryan Hardy’s current nemesis met his arch nemesis when Theo (Michael Ealy) spoke with Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) through a prison guard avatar. Theo needed Joe to help him find Strauss’s other disciples, and in exchange he promised to kill Ryan (Kevin Bacon) and give Joe eternal infamy. Joe, however, had other plans, dispatching of Theo’s accomplice and claiming Ryan as his own. It’s all rather touching in some strange horrific way. Tonight, Joe Carroll walks the Green Mile… yeah right!
Do not continue if you haven’t watched last night’s episode – definite spoilers!

Before we get to the review of The Following 3.9 “Kill The Messenger,” here’s a quick recap of last week: THEO IS F@%KING NUTS!!! Sorry, but yeah, it’s true. Michael Ealy‘s portrayal of Theo reached epic proportions last week when his identity was discovered after murdering his wife’s best friend and framing her husband. His response was to “deal” with the situation and that included murdering his wife and leaving his kids to die. Kids saved, Theo put Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) on notice – come after him, and his loved ones will be next…”piece by piece.”

|
The Following
Season 3 Episode 8: “Flesh & Blood”
Created by Kevin Williamson
Directed by Marcos Siega
Written by Michael McGrale, Mary Leah Sutton
Starring Kevin Bacon, James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Sam Underwood, Valerie Cruz, Jessica Stroup, Michael Ealy
FOX

Before we get to the review of The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood,” here’s a quick recap of last week.
We got a clear vision of Theo, the psychotic “best student” of Arthur Strauss. Having murdered the good doctor, Theo (Michael Ealy) demonstrated his skills as a cyber serial killer by sitting right out in the open in front Max Hardy’s investigation, killing and framing everyone in his path. Max (Jessica Stroup) barely avoided joining his kill-list.
The Following 3.8 “Flesh & Blood” review: We begin Episode 8 with chief suspect Tucker Moore being ceremoniously dispatched by Theo… in a kitchen meat grinder! What complicates Theo is that he appears to be the perfect family man. Sure his wife suspects him of cheating, but not mass murder. Few characters I can think of on television have ever had the drastic duality of Theo. One minute he’s throwing his wife a surprise party, the next murdering her best friend and husband. See… I told you he wasn’t cheating on her!
