Back in May the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog, a movie based on the SEGA video game character of the same name, was released by Paramount Pictures. The response could not have been worse. The response was so overwhelmingly negative, in fact, that the movie instantly became the internet’s favorite subject for jokes and memes galore. It was a disaster.
The reason for this wildfire of negativity was the design of the title character. It was…poor, to put it nicely. The damage was so great that Paramount was forced to throw away a significant amount of time, effort, and money that had gone into designing and animating the character, and start over in hopes of stopping the bleeding before it was too late.
Now, after deleting the first trailer, poster, and more (though the internet never forgets, of course), Paramount has released another trailer with the newly designed Sonic. You can check it out below.
The voice cast for Bethesda Softworks’ upcoming mega–game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has been officially announced, and it includes some very interesting names.
The first and already known actor is of course Max von Sydow, who gave us an early sample of his work in the game’s announcement trailer back in December. Sydow is an Oscar–nominated actor (for Pelle the Conqueror) who’s many films have included The Exorcist, Minority Report, Shutter Island, Robin Hood, and of course, Ghostbusters II as the voice of Vigo!
The Battlestar Galactica cast is scheduled to begin shooting September 8, 2008 the second TV movie that will first air on the SCI FI Channel and then immediately be released to DVD.
The 2-hour movie will act as an extended episode and is set in the “Lay Your Burdens Down” time period, according to Michael Hogan, who plays Colonel Saul Tigh on BSG.
In the Saturday panel at Dragon*Con 2008, Edward James Olmos said the story would address what happened between his character Bill Adama and Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell) on New Caprica. The DVD movie, Olmos said, “is about how Adama gets laid.”
