SDCC 2016: Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake Talk The Wonders Of Dreamworks ‘Trolls’
  |  @   |

Thursdays at San Diego Comic-Con International are probably the most uneventful, while also still being just a little bit special at the same time. While most people are pumped and getting situated for Saturday, DreamWorks Animation had a presentation for their upcoming film Trolls featuring the voice talents of Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.

We briefly saw what kind of a film Trolls would be in a teaser trailer. Full of comedy and top 40 songs, Trolls is based on the 90s toys that took over the pop culture world by storm, and if a hit with audiences, it will likely make a huge come back.

Since Thursday is one of the lightest days of the Con, we sat down at Hall H to find out more about this movie. Check out what they had to say and a brief description of the scenes that were shown at the panel.

Movie Review: Shrek The Final Chapter

Shrek The Final Chapter
Directed by Mike Mitchell
Starring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas
Rated PG
Release date: May 21, 2010

I was watching TV the other night with a friend of mine and a trailer for Shrek The Final Chapter came on. He’s not what you call attentive, so when he looked at me and said, “There’s a new Shrek movie coming out?” I wasn’t surprised. But his response when I confirmed it was oddly insightful — he simply asked, “Why?” It might be a good question since the series was wrapped up nicely with the last three movies, but if you think the answer is anything but money, you’re crazy.

So how do you advance a series that has nowhere else to go because the characters have everything they have wanted for three movies? Why, an alternate universe, of course.

After a quick scene to catch everyone we see Shrek and friends just living life. Everything is going as it should, or at least how they wanted it. Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and Dragon are tending to their respective clans. Everything is good until Shrek starts feeling like every day is the same and remembers a time when his level of self-worth was much higher. People used to be scared of ogres. His life used to have purpose. Ah, the good old days”¦

Geek Peek: First Images & Story Details From ‘Shrek 4’ Emerge
  |  @   |

Many people instantaneously went from loving Shrek to hating Shrek when Shrek the Third was released in 2007. And since we’ve already said “Shrek” more than anyone in the history of mankind has ever said in such a short amount of words, why stop now! Although said third film was pretty unanimously disliked compared to the original and wonderful first two Shrek films, DreamWorks has moved forward with the planned fourth film in the mega franchise — a movie that we now know will officially be called Shrek Forever After. The studio has given USA Today released a couple of new images from the film, as well as many new details as to what we can expect. Click the image to go large and click the link to go see another image.

One smart move that’s being made is that DreamWorks hasn’t been talking a lot about this project and releasing a ton of images. Instead of risking fans becoming turned off by two straight years of news and images and rumors, it appears that they’re trying to ease us into the return of the giant green ogre. They’re doing this by dropping this first batch of images and updates right before the first trailer is debuted in only a few weeks when Avatar is released. The movie itself will be released on May 21, 2010.
