"We weren’t even given credit as musicians. People thought we were fuckin’ wankers…"
Eddie Clarke, Motörhead

There are many seminal albums that have stayed the course of the Metal genre over the years, but very few have reached across multiple genres becoming such a cornerstone in music history as Motörhead‘s Ace of Spades. The 1980 release was hugely prominent in its day, but is perhaps more so as time goes on.

While their albums Overkill and Bomber put Motörhead on the map, it was Ace of Spades that catapulted them to international stardom (or notoriety). The band was led by the god known only as Lemmy, and joined by guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and backed by Phil “The Animal” Taylor (responsible for the invention of using double bass drum in metal songs).

Motorhead Says Lemmy Is ‘Alive & Kicking’ After Falling Ill At Wacken Show
  |  @   |

Lemmy Kilmister, the iconic frontman of heavy rock band Motorhead, is “alive and kicking,” according to the band’s guitarist, Phil Campbell, who posted the update to his Twitter page after his bandmate took ill on Friday, August 2, causing the band to shorten their set at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany. Since the event, rumors have been swirling through social media networks about Lemmy’s health and possible death, which prompted the official response from the band.

This is the second time this year that the band had to issue a “Lemmy is still alive” statement to the public, the first time being in June when Motorhead had to cancel some tour dates after the 67-year-old frontman suffered a haematoma and was given doctor’s orders to “rest.” Soon after, the band cancelled most of their upcoming European festival tour dates, but kept themselves on the bill for the Wacken festival. The band took the stage at Wacken, but ended up cutting their set short to six songs after Lemmy’s health started failing.

Watch Now: Troma Films’ ‘Return To Nuke ‘Em High Vol. I & II’ Trailer With Motorhead’s Lemmy
  |

This year Troma Films, purveyors of some of the most unhinged B-movies to melt the innards of many a VCR, is preparing to unleash its biggest movie made yet, a depraved epic bound to offend every special interest group on Earth and maybe even a few on distant planets that is so huge it has to be split into two parts, Kill Bill style. Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. I & II, the fourth movie in the studio’s other most successful franchise that kicked off in 1986 and has become one of many bona fide cult classics to endure throughout the years, is coming to theaters soon and bringing a star-studded cast (for a Troma movie) with it.

You can check out a poster and teaser trailer for the movie here below.

Set to appear in Return are such Troma mainstays as Debbie Rochon, porn movie legend Ron Jeremy, and hard rock god Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead (the photo above shows him in the film as President Lemmy). Mark Neveldine, the co-director of the Crank movies, Gamer, and most recently Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, is looking to appear in this latest Troma-tic endeavor. Studio head Lloyd Kaufman, who has directed many of Troma’s best-known movies, returns to serve as director, and judging by the trailer will also make his customary cameo bow.

Check Out ‘Motorheadphones’, Motorhead’s Brand Of Loud Headphones
  |  @   |

In marketing their new product, headphones called Motörheadphönes, the band Motörhead states, “If it’s too loud, you’re too old.”

As a teen, that was one of the mottos I adopted, as I blasted my heavy metal music as much as I could – the louder the better. I was used to seeing live shows by bands like Motörhead, who’s in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the loudest band. And believe me, they are LOUD.

Motörhead still loves it loud, which is why they’ve expanded their burgeoning enterprise, which includes their own brand of wine, vodka, and glassware, with Motörheadphönes, which are designed to sound both loud and clear.

There will be a Motörheadphönes booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today (January 8) at the CES South Hall at #35801 – and there will be a press conference at 4pm presented by frontman Lemmy Kilmister, who will unveiling this new product for the first time in the United States (it’s already out in Europe).
