‘Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle’: New Trailer For Andy Serkis’s Take On ‘The Jungle Book’ Released
  |  @   |

Back in May we saw a trailer for Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, and King Kong star Andy Serkis‘s new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling‘s The Jungle Book titled Mowgli.

At the time the movie was set up at Warner Brothers, where it had been housed over the past four years since we first heard about it. But since that time Warner Bros. lost confidence in the film, and eventually sold it to Netflix. In the acquisition Netflix obtained a film with a hell of a cast, which includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys, Naomie Harris, and Serkis, all joining young Rohan Chand, who plays the title character.

Now Netflix has released their own official trailer for the movie, now titled Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and you can check it out below along with a synopsis for the movie.

While the Serkis had previously done double-duty as actor and second-unit director for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, he’s making his feature directorial debut with Mowgli, a darker adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. The film had which been delayed to work on the technology and presentation, as well as to get some distance from Disney’s recent live-action adaptation.

Rampage is what happens when you combine the monsters of Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla with the motion-capture effects of the Planet of the Apes franchise, and then add The Rock because why the heck not?! Rampage is exactly the type of movie you you want to watch on a way too cold Spring day. Films like this should be pictured in the dictionary next to the phrase “Popcorn Movie” and this is a perfect way to ignore the stress of life for 2 hours and turn your brain off. This is the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and giant monsters. If you read that and stop to think, you’re already working too hard.

  |  @   |

Based on the coin-op arcade name of the same name, the film sees Johnson take on a new kind of video game where he will face a towering gorilla, a fearsome crocodile, and a flying wolf. Yup, the wolf flies. But at least Johnson’s big arm will save us. Check out the full trailer below.
