For the Gen Y’ers and millennials out there, there are few things as treasured as the memories of Pokemon, whether it was trying to catch ’em all on one Gameboy game after the next or watching Pikachu get up to his latest hijinx with the rest of the gang against Team Rocket on TV. Heck, maybe you’re still making new memories right now!
To help facilitate a kickstart to your nostalgia, or maybe to help introduce a whole new generation to the classic animated content, Netflix has brought a small sampling of Pokemon cartoons to their streaming service as of March 1, 2014.
As of January 1, 2014, the streaming movie selection on Netflix will be losing more than 80 titles of both high and low caliber quality due to expiring license agreements. From top shelf content like Being John Malkovich to Z-grade content like Troll 2, a little something for everyone will be disappearing from their streaming service.
While many of these films will still be available for purchase via Blu-ray and DVD, that instant accessibility and choice deriving from the age old question “What should we watch?” will be lost. But fear not! Here, for your browsing pleasure, are two top 10 lists — one for the best films Netflix is losing and one for the “worst” films — along with some comments. Check out the lists here below, and then start watching!
Geeks Of Doom has a long tradition in bringing our readers good quality reviews in a variety of media. And in the ever-changing landscape of media formats and availability, it’s time that tradition continued to reflect the latest accessible releases.
