Album Review: Kreator ‘Gods Of Violence’

Kreator
Gods of Violence
CD | MP3
Label: Nuclear Blast
Release Date: January 27, 2017

Teutonic thrash lords Kreator have just unleashed their fourteenth studio album, Gods of Violence. The record is out now worldwide via the Nuclear Blast label and marks the German legends’ first studio effort in five years. That’s the longest period that Kreator have ever taken between albums in their 30-year career. So, was it worth the wait?

In short, yes! Not only is Kreator at the top of their game musically, but Gods of Violence may just be their most cohesive effort to date. It’s truly amazing when any band has such longevity, but to continue raising the bar when many of your contemporaries have long since fallen out is an extreme rarity.

Massive Metal Monday: Nile “Evil To Cast Out Evil”
  |  @   |

South Carolina death metal titan Nile has just released its eighth studio album What Should Not Be Unearthed. The album eschews the complex technicality of the band’s past few albums, marking a return to straight forward death metal on which the band first rose to fame.

Egyptology has always been the core theme of Nile’s lyrical approach and little has changed in that department. Listening to a Nile album is like taking a very brutal trip through history. If you like traditional death metal, I highly recommend picking up a copy of What Should Not Be Unearthed. It is one of the best death metal offerings that you will hear this or any year.

Teutonic metal legends Accept have just released the official video for the track “Stampede,” which is the first single from their soon to be released fourteenth album Blind Rage.

The video was shot at The Devil’s Punch Bowl in the California high desert and features sweeping panoramas shot from a helicopter while the band play high atop the rock formations and some very unique shots from the perspective of a guitar pickup. The song is exactly the sort of straight ahead, “Balls to the Wall” anthem that the band is known for.

Watch the video for “Stampede” here below.
