Magnolia Pictures has released a brand new poster for Neil Marshall‘s Centurion, and they reached out to famed British comic book artist Simon Bisley to create the unique and original work.
The movie stars 300 actors Michael Fassbender and Dominic West, as well as Hitman and Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko. It tells the story of a Roman Centurion soldier who gets caught behind enemy lines with a small band of troops after their Ninth Legion was ambushed and their leader taken. So far we’ve seen a few images and trailers (Read: Neil Marshall’s ‘Centurion’ Gets A Red Band Trailer & New Poster ), but this new poster certainly gets points for uniqueness. It’s not often you see a full-on comic book illustration created for a live-action film, and it works well.
The movie will be released on August 27, 2010, and is already available on available VOD, VUDU, Playstation Network, Xbox Marketplace, and Amazon. Click on over to the other side now to check out the new poster by Simon Bisley!
A brand new trailer for Neil Marshall‘s (Doomsday, The Descent) historical epic titled Centurion has been released. This new trailer is of the Red Band variety, meaning it aims to sell you on the movie by showing off all the bloody violence and other naughty goodies we adults all love so much.
The movie features 300 co-stars Dominic West and Michael Fassbender. West plays captured General Virilus, while Fassbender plays Quintus Dias, a survivor of the ambush who is trapped deep within the enemy’s boundaries. Also starring is Hitman and Quantum of Solace leading lady Olga Kurylenko, who will be a Pict warrior whose tongue was removed by the Romans after they killed her entire family.
Head on over to the other side to watch the new Red Band trailer for Centurion and take a peek at the poster. And just in case you’re not familiar with the term, Red Band means unrated, and not so safe for children and work environments!
The very first new trailer for Neil Marshall‘s Centurion has been released via IGN.
The movie takes place in 117 A.D. and tells the story of Rome’s Ninth Legion, who set off on a major mission to find and destroy the leader of the Picts and anyone who tries to stop them. But when the Picts spring a trap on them and take the Legion’s general captive, one remaining Roman soldier must take just a few men and find a way to stop the Picts once and for all.
The movie reunites stars Dominic West and Michael Fassbender, who appeared together in another epic battle movie: 300. West plays captured General Virilus, while Fassbender plays Quintus Dias, a survivor of the ambush who is trapped deep within the enemy’s boundaries. The movie also stars Hitman and Quantum of Solace leading lady Olga Kurylenko as a Pict warrior whose tongue was removed by the Romans after they killed her entire family. This character would seem to point to one of those cases where we the viewers will not be sure who to pull for.

The James Bond series could very well go on forever. Even after 20 films, it is possible to reinvigorate the series, as the films starring Daniel Craig have proven. Honestly, I have never been a big fan of Bond and hearing that the series was going to be rebooted with Craig didn’t seem to be anything worth getting excited over. Well, I was wrong, and happy to admit it.
Though it may be sacrilegious to say so, doing away with the cheesy gadgets, the overly suggestive character names, and even the one-liners have saved this series, and it’s obvious the new Bond will not be anything like the old ones. A scene in Casino Royale really established the mentality of the new series in relation to the old, as a bartender asks Bond if he wants his martini shaken or stirred, he snaps back “Do I look like I give a damn!?” The new bond is darker, more realistic (not that that is a stretch), and much more intense.
Quantum of Solace continues this new spirit with style. As an emotionally tortured Bond continues his quest for vengeance, details emerge about a mysterious and far-reaching shadow organization. The movie not only brings closure to many elements of Casino Royale, but establishes a strong foundation for the sequels that will obviously be made.
It’s being reported that Orlando Bloom will be stepping into the world of science fiction for The Cross, which will be directed by Andrew Niccols (Lord of War).
The Cross will be set in the very near future and follows Bloom’s character as he attempts to do what no other has, and cross this incredibly mysterious border.
The movie also stars Vincent Cassel (Eastern Promises, Brotherhood of the Wolf) as a guard who is determined to stop Bloom from crossing, and Olga Kurylenko (Hitman, Quantum of Solace) as the “female lead” — or eye candy, if you will.
