Last week on AMC’s Into the Badlands, Quinn (Marton Csokas) made his dramatic return during the conclave, unintentionally saving The Widow (Emily Beecham) who was just targeted for death. After a fairly epic battle between all the past and current Barons, Quinn chased down his son and usurper Ryder (Oliver Stark) and stabbed him to death in a heartbreaking scene”¦ no pun intended. While Quinn made his play, Veil (Madeleine Mantock) made hers, attempting to escape after killing one of Quinn’s men. Alas, she was locked in and is still a prisoner. Sunny and Bajie were not even featured last week, this week on Episode 2.5, they move closer to the Badlands”¦

Warning: Spoilers for Into the Badlands below:
Last week on Into the Badlands, Sunny (Daniel Wu) and his not-by-choice sidekick Bajie (Nick Frost), escaped from the mining colony but encountered a problem in a gigantic wall that separates them from the Badlands. Meanwhile, Sunny’s child is alive and well as Veil (Madeleine Mantock) is protected by the very much alive and thriving Baron Quinn (Marton Csokas), who is busy rebuilding an army of new clippers. Over the first two episodes, the dominant force has been the ladies as both The Widow (Emily Beecham) and Lydia (Orla Brady) asserted battlefield dominance in gory fashion. The Widow is keen to take over the entire Badlands once and for all, and sets her sights on Lydia’s son Ryder (Oliver Stark), who seems unimpressed with his mother’s attempts to help. While many fight for power and control, M.K. (Aramis Knight) struggles to keep his inner demons at bay at a monastery, being tutored there by The Master (Chipo Chung).

In the late Fall of 2015, AMC debuted Into the Badlands, and it took me all of 5-minutes to be floored by the show. A wild mix of post-apocalyptic steampunk, techno-feudalism and martial arts, Into the Badlands stars Daniel Wu as Sunny, the head clipper for Baron Quinn (Marton Csokas). The Barons control their piece of land, and with guns a thing of the past, young warriors are trained to fight with blades and other weapons. The fight sequences and choreography were some of the best ever for television and a standout for the series. When a strange teen, M.K. (Aramis Knight) who unleashes superhuman power when he bleeds, show up in the Badlands everything changes for Sunny. Sunny begins having conflicts of self; his loyalty torn between his father-like Baron, his pregnant girlfriend Veil (Madeleine Mantock), and the world beyond the Badlands. In the end, a mammoth war broke out, Quinn stabbed Sunny in the back, and Sunny and M.K. attempted to escape, only to fall into a trap.
