Ava DuVerney‘s A Wrinkle In Time is already promising to be one of the most anticipated films of 2018. It touts a stellar cast and gives a visionary director the keys to an acclaimed novel that takes audiences through time and space. The first trailer was just a mere peek at the film’s epic scope. In it we got a look at the juxtaposition between the film’s real-world and the out of this world sci-fi feel. Now, Disney has released a new trailer that tells us just how massive this world really is and the wild fantasy adventure audiences are about to embark on. Earlier this week we saw our very first look at Ava DuVernay‘s adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time. Madeleine L’Engle’s acclaimed children’s novel of the same name which sees Meg (Storm Reid) going on a cosmic adventure that spans space and time to save her father from an evil force who intends to use his space time travel research for their nefarious deeds. Both DuVernay and Reid were joined by Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Pine, and all shared their thorughts and experiences on the film.

Selma and The 13th are both career-defining films for Ava DuVernay. Though the director was close to helming Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, she still found a way to reach a very important milestone. As the director of A Wrinkle In Time, she is first African-American woman to direct a $100 million film. It’s a significant feat if you pay attention to who usually gets these high budget directing gigs.

Now with the D23 Expo just around the corner, we are getting a better look at what is to come with a bunch of new images from the film. Check them all out below.

Two years ago, in light of the D23 Expo 2015, I named six individuals paramount to the success of The Walt Disney Company who should be named Disney Legends, the highest honor that can be bestowed. I think it is inevitable that Joe Rodhe, for instance, renowned Imagineer with those awesome earrings, who I contended should become a Disney Legend, will one day attain that honor. This prompted me to reflect on individuals within The Walt Disney Company, whether they have more recently joined the corporation or have been directly or indirectly part of its framework, who have a high chance of being recognized as Disney Legends at some point.

I had planned on publishing a column about the next set of individuals who would likely be recognized as Disney Legends, but The Walt Disney Company beat me to the punch by recently issuing a press release of its nine forthcoming Disney Legends. You’ll have to take my word that I predicted Stan Lee, Garry Marshall, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill would be named as Disney Legends this year. That said, I am excited to share my thoughts on these four, as well as five others, who will obtain this major honor at the D23 Expo.

The mannequin challenge craze has caught the nation by storm. And while I believe that it is a popular trend that will eventually find its way out the door, film PR might as well use it to promote their movies while the trend is still hot.
