If one thing can be said about The Tick is that its title hero has an eclectic list of allies and villains. At this year’s New York Comic-Con, one such ally was showcased in a big way. Dangerboat, the talking sidekick and headquarters to the vigilante known as Overkill, was set up on the convention’s main show floor, allowing fans to take part in an interactive experience within the sentient warcraft. Pfeff-Bot and I had the chance to explore Dangerboat at length. Read below to find out what the experience was like!
“Open up wide and swallow!” Thus commands Overkill vocalist Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth on the band’s new single “Bitter Pill.” White Devil Armory is the band’s seventeenth album. It is already out in Europe on Nuclear Blast Records and releases today (July 22nd) in the U.S via eOne Music.
The video for “Bitter Pill” has just been released and finds the band in top form. You can watch it here below.
From their 1988 album Under the Influence, this is New Jersey’s longest-running thrash stalwarts Overkill. Check out the video here below for “Hello From The Gutter” (GoD’s Empress Eve has excitedly informed me that she was at the filming of said video in NYC all those years ago and is in the crowd shots).
The band is set to release their 17th album, White Devil Armory, on July 18th through Nuclear Blast/eOne Music.
Metal Sucks posed a question this week: If The Big Four were The Big 8, which bands would be the next four in the group?
If you’re unaware, The Big 4 Tour is comprised of thrash metal giants Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The tour is scheduled to arrive in just one city this April in the United States, much to the dismay of metalheads across the nation who wanted the tour to hit more cities.
I’ve seen some reactions from fans who aren’t in total agreement with this touring line-up, stating that not every band on the bill fits the “Big 4” mold. I happened to think it’s a great bill, but I’ve wondered what other bands would fit nicely on this tour.
So, if The Big 4 Tour was actually The Big 8 Tour, what four additional bands do you think deserve to be on it?
Check out my picks below and let me know what yours would be.
