‘Insidious’ & ‘The Conjuring’ Director James Wan Set For ‘Fast and Furious 7’
  |  @   |

We found out earlier this month that Justin Lin would not be returning to direct another movie in the Fast and Furious franchise after running things for the last four installments, including the upcoming Fast & Furious 6.

Now comes word that James Wan has been chosen to step in for the departing Lin and take the helm for Fast and Furious 7. The choice is an interesting one, to say the least, as Wan is known primarily for his work in the horror genre. His credits include the original Saw, the surprise hit Insidious (as well as its upcoming sequel), and this summer’s The Conjuring.

Wait, What? Fox To Redo ‘Hitman’ Movie With Paul Walker As Agent 47
  |  @   |

2007’s Hitman was not a very good movie, for a number of reasons. But instead of moving forward on a sequel to the movie, as was in the works for a long while, Fox has instead decided that they’re going to reboot and start over. No objections here!

But wait, there is most certainly more. Hopes for a better adaptation of the popular game series will be instantly put to the test by word that Paul Walker, star of the Fast and Furious franchise and Into the Blue, will be playing Agent 47 this time around, and that the movie itself will be titled Agent 47 as well.

‘Fast & Furious 6’ Trailer: All Roads Lead To Vehicular Warfare
  |  @   |

The first trailer for Fast And Furious 6 has finally hit the web. The trailer is an extended look at the Super Bowl spot that aired on Super Bowl Sunday. In it we get a better sense of the story and the stakes. And what’s a Fast and Furious trailer without the fast cars, close-ups of changing gears, women, more women, and muscular men.

Check out the full trailer for Fast and Furious 6 below.

Vin Disel, Paul Walker, Ludacris, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Jordana Brewster all come back to reprise their respective roles and will be joined by newcomers Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, and Gina Carano. Oh and Michelle Rodriguez comes back, too. Guess she was tired of playing characters who die all the time.

‘Fast & Furious 6’ Revs Its Engine With A New Poster And Super Bowl TV Spot

Universal Pictures’ gasoline and testosterone-powered franchise is back for another spin around the box office track this summer. Fast & Furious 6 now has a new TV spot that premiered during tonight’s Super Bowl as well as a teaser poster.

You can check them both out here below.

When the Fast & Furious series changed its focus from excessive brooding and street racing to all-out action and high-speed heists it got a creative shot of adrenaline right straight to its eyeballs. Adding Dwayne Johnson to the mix as a take-no-prisoners federal agent who throws himself into his work a bit too literally helped a lot too. The characters got cooler, the action sequences elaborate and exciting, and suddenly a franchise that seemed destined to be a passing fad of the first decade of the 21st century got bigger and better than ever before.

Movie Review: Fast Five

Fast Five
Directed by Justin Lin
Starring: Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster. Tyrese Gibson, Chris “˜Ludacris’ Bridges, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot and Joaquim de Almeida
Release Date: April 29, 2011

WARNING: All that occurs in Fast Five is beyond belief and is a blurred, falsified vision of a supposed “reality.” Any time a giant vault is pulled by two cars across the busy streets of Rio de Janeiro and no bystanders are scathed, we realize this can’t be reality. But with a movie this fun, who really cares? Gentle, respectful, and cautious are not the most popular words used to describe director Justin Lin‘s latest, and most victorious, foray into the world governed by the fast and the furious (he directed the impoverished Fast & Furious and Tokyo Drift). These unpopular word choices do not suddenly appear by way of Lin’s fastidious and keen craftsmanship. No eye on this film’s staff is capable of discerning the slightest form of subtlety, though we are encouraged to indulge in that incessant upsurge that is popular entertainment (gorgeous women, cars, exotic locals, explosions, muscled men, and more gorgeous women). This all means only on thing: summer movie season has begun.

The proportions in which we are served this kind of entertainment in Fast Five are vast and at times overwhelming. Those who will see the film will be unable to dismiss such abundant offerings and will find themselves involuntarily requesting more and more because of the way Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan completely devote themselves in making the impossible and the unnecessary pleasant to watch, at times even beguiling.
