‘Better Call Saul’ Will Take Place Before, During, and After ‘Breaking Bad’
  |  @   |

Though some delays have pushed Better Call Saul back to a 2015 debut, our interest in the show is still quite high. So every bit of news is something we should savor until we get to see a trailer. We weren’t quite sure what the show would be; all we knew was that Bob Odenkirk would reprise his role as Saul Goodman, with Jonathan Banks returning to reprise Mike Ehrmantraut. The two roles tell us that this would at least be a prequel of sorts. But we also heard that it could be a sequel. Can’t be sure how compelling one would be if audiences were to watch Goodman managing a Cinnabon, but I’m sure Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould can figure it out.

Now it is confirmed that the comedy drama will indeed be a prequel and a sequel, but it will also be a series that takes place during the vents of Breaking Bad. Hit the jump to see Gould’s comments, and the possibility of original Breaking Bad characters returning to the series.

Breaking Bad was on the brink of being cancelled before the show found new life when people started to watch it on Netflix. So thanks in part to that, AMC extended the series for a few more seasons and turned it into the critically acclaimed show that it is today. And now, the two are going to make their relationship more public.

Netflix has just announced that it will stream Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad prequel/sequel, days after each episode airs. Deadline reports Netflix and Breaking Bad producer Sony Pictures Television have all signed a deal that will allow the spinoff series to be available for all of the streaming service’s territories. Which means, the entire series will be ready to watch on Netflix, once season one is complete.

‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff ‘Better Call Saul’ Could Feature Cameos By Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul
  |  @   |

News of a Breaking Bad spinoff, Better Call Saul, broke before it was determined what could happen to Bob Odenkirk‘s character Saul Goodman. For the sake of spoilers I will leave out what happens to ABQ’s favorite lawyer, but just know that Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and showrunner Peter Gould will be back to work on the prequel spinoff.

The two have confirmed that the show’s setting will stay in New Mexico to maintain its Breaking Bad presence. Gilligan also confirmed that the show will geared more towards comedy, but that there will also be dramatic elements. According to them it would be about 75% comedy and 25% drama. Now in a new interview, Gilligan talks about what we would see in Better Call Saul, and if Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, or other stars of the show might show up in the spinoff.

TV Review: Breaking Bad 5.15: Granite State
  |

Breaking Bad
Season 5, Episode 15 – “Granite State”
Directed and written by Peter Gould
Starring: Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Laura Fraser, and Jesse Plemons
AMC
Air date: September 22, 2013

After all the predicting and guessing I’ve made, turns out the most simple reason of all is the reason behind Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) return to ABQ. Massive spoilers follow.

It’s not Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) or Skyler (Anna Gunn) or Walter Jr (RJ Mitte) that brings Walter White’s newly minted Mr. Lambert back to ABQ. In fact, it’s so much simpler than that. It’s the reason that Breaking Bad has explored for so long.

AMC Greenlights ‘Breaking Bad’ Saul Goodman Prequel ‘Better Call Saul’
  |  @   |

Breaking Bad fans would agree that the world would be a much better place with little more Saul Goodman in their lives. And it looks like AMC and Sony Pictures TV agrees. Today, the two parties have reached an agreement on the sniff off that would serve as a prequel to the the Vince Gilligan hit series, which is coming to an end.

According to Deadline, the series, tentatively titled Better Call Saul, would be an hour-long prequel that would center on Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) before he became the slippery sleazy silver-tongued lawyer for Walter White. The status of the project is unknown, but word is Better Call Saul, based on the lawyer’s catchy slogan, has already been approved for a full-series order pending the agreements of the complication of Sony TV’s deals with Gilligan, writer Peter Gould, and Odenkirk.
