We’ve seen countless great cosplayers over the years, many of which put an incredible amount of time and detail into transforming themselves into their favorite fictional characters from movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, and more.
But sometimes simple is best. This is the case with Robert Franzese, who realized one day that he could be a pretty convincing Peter Griffin from the hit animated comedy Family Guy, voiced on the show of course by creator Seth MacFarlane. A quick clothing change later, and it was so. Seriously, you have to see it to believe it. The clincher? He nails the voice. Many cosplayers deliver a perfect look, but it’s much more rare to find those who achieve flawless mimicry via an identical (or at least close) impression of a character’s voice.
Check out a video of Franzese talking about cosplay—including a lovely reminder of one of the reasons why he and cosplayers around the world do what they do—and interacting with New York Comic-Con 2014 attendees below.
