A great fighter once said, “It’s not about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”
Co-written and directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station), Creed stars Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station, Fantastic Four) as Adonis Johnson, the son of legendary boxer Apollo Creed – Carl Weathers’ fleet-footed fighter from the Rocky franchise.
The product of an extramarital affair, Adonis never knew his famous father, who died in the ring during a bout with Ivan Drago in 1985’s Rocky IV. After losing his mother, Adonis grew up in foster homes before his penchant for fighting landed him in juvenile detention. Adonis gets a second chance in Creed’s widow, Mary Anne (Phylicia RashÄd), who takes the boy in.
Warner Brothers has released a brand new featurette for Creed, a spinoff of the Rocky franchise starring Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed, Adonis, and Sylvester Stallone reprising his role as Rocky.
The featurette is titled “Generations,” and is a short behind the scenes peek at how the movie came to be and what it’s all about. If you missed the trailers that have been released for the movie, you can watch the first one and the second one here.
Warner Brothers has released a brand new trailer for Creed, the spinoff to the Rocky franchise that focuses on Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), the son of Rocky Balboa’s former foe and eventual best friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). The film centers on Adonis, a raw and undisciplined fighter who Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) saves from prison, then trains to become the fighter he was destined to be. Standing in Adonis’ way is his past, the shadow of his father, and the anxiety of being labelled a loser because of his fighting heritage.
