Captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), a former Confederate officer who returned from fighting in the Civil War to find his wife and child murdered by Apaches, is now scouring the deserts and hills of Arizona looking for a mysterious cave of gold. When a group of Calvary soldiers attempt to conscript him into their fight against the Apaches in that territory, Carter escapes their clutches and soon manages to find the cave he has been looking for, but a strange and bald being is already there waiting for him. After a brief fight Carter emerges the victor, but his adversary activates a device and speaks the word “Barsoom” before perishing from his wounds. The reluctant soldier is suddenly transported from Earth to a place unfamiliar to him. In his new surroundings, a planet called Barsoom (better known to us as Mars), Carter can leap great distances and has increased strength, but he soon discovers he’s not alone.

REMINDER: Unseen ‘Caprica’ Episodes Start Tonight!
  |  @   |

Because the pilot for Battlestar Galactica prequel series Caprica was released as a movie in what seems like a long, long time ago (Read: DVD Review: ‘Caprica’), it didn’t even feel like the show began last week. In case you missed it, the show did indeed start last week, and if you haven’t yet done so, you should find the pilot episode and watch it immediately.

Now that the pilot for this new adventure from BSG masterminds Ronald D. Moore and David Eick is done and over, that can only mean one thing: a wealth of brand new treasures in the creationism of Cylons as we know them! That’s right, tonight begins the first of the all-new episodes that we’ll see during the show’s maiden season voyage. It will take over from the epic ending point of the movie, and continue us on as Daniel Graystone digs deeper into his dark and revolutionary discovery and his daughter Zoe gets used to her new existence.

Click over to read the series’ synopsis and to check out a cool trailer for the post-pilot episodes of Caprica that we’re about to see, complete with appearances by Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s James Marsters and universally-popular funnyman, Patton Oswalt.

Must Watch: First Official ‘Clash Of The Titans’ Teaser Trailer!
  |  @   |

For some reason it feels like this is earlier than expected, but without any one complaint from anyone, Yahoo! Movies has been given the honor of sharing with us the very first official teaser trailer for Louis Leterrier‘s brand new vision of the 1981 mythological fantasy classic, Clash of the Titans.

The movie follows Perseus (Sam Worthington), a man born from the gods, but who was raised as a regular mortal. He eventually discovers his true pedigree and finds out that Hades (Ralph Fiennes), God of the Underworld, is preparing to forcefully take over his brother Zeus’s (Liam Neeson) power and kingdom so that he can wreak havoc on the heavens and the Earth. Being Zeus’s child and with nothing else to solidify his legacy, Perseus volunteers to lead a mighty band of warriors through the unholiest of lands to fight some of the most evil beings known to man and try and stop Hades and his plans.
