Countdown To Doctor Who: TARDISblend 51

In the leadup to the seventh series of Doctor Who, the TARDISblend returns, as we take a look at what may await the Doctor (Matt Smith) and companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) in the season opener entitled Asylum of the Daleks. We examine how the opening episode may tie in to the conclusion of the Ponds’ life with the Doctor, and how upcoming new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) ties into the first part of the season before her first appearance in the show!

Later, we look down the list of all the upcoming episodes for the season, preview the new mini online series called Pond Life, discuss some of the rumors surrounding Moffat’s approach to Series 7 and 8, and examine some intriguing rumors surrounding the future of the Daleks and whether we will ever see the return of Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman).

Countdown To Doctor Who: Watch ‘Pond Life’ Part 1 Now!

In the run-up to the premiere of Doctor Who Series 7, the BBC is posting a short mini web series this week called Pond Life that focuses on the everyday life of Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) when they’re away from their travels with the Doctor (Matt Smith). You can check out part one below.

Pond Life will spearhead directly into the events of the debut episode of Series 7, which is called Asylum of the Daleks. It is essentially a prequel that sets the tone for Amy’s and Rory’s relationship, but also their friendship with the Doctor. The couple will be departing the series this season, after which the Doctor will come across new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman).
