Sony Computer Entertainment has unveiled lots of information regarding their contribution to the incoming virtual reality era, once known as Project Morpheus but now simply called PlayStation VR.
Most importantly, Sony has shared both the release window for PlayStation VR and how much it will cost you to own it when it’s released. On top of that, they’ve shared technical details, previews for games and experiences, and more. You can find all of this in the videos below.
The news that Facebook has acquired Oculus VR, makers of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, for $2 billion has many who were excited by the product in a frenzy of disappointment and doubt. But, whether you think the acquisition was a bad move or you’re still optimistic about the Oculus, there are other VR products on the way to keep an eye on. Sony, for example, has one currently being developed for their PlayStation 4 called Project Morpheus, and they’re currently showing the technology off at the 2014 Game Developers Conference.
The company, quite smartly, has released a pair of new videos showing off Project Morpheus. The first is a hands-on preview video, and the second is their entire hour-long GDC ’14 presentation, which talks in depth about their vision for virtual reality moving forward and what you can expect from Morpheus. Check out both videos below.
