In Halloweed, a new horror-comedy from director LazRael Lison, Shannon Brown stars as Trent Modine, the son of the Bridgeport Butcher (Tom Sizemore), an infamous serial killer who’s on death row. To escape the stigma of their father’s legacy and make a better life for themselves, Trent and his idiotic half-brother Joey (Simon Rex) — lured by an infomercial — move to the small town of Mooseheart just in time for Halloween. As luck would have it, the place boasts some awesome weed, which is great for the two stoners, especially Joey, who immediately starts dealing. Unfortunately, this quiet little town also has a haunted reputation thanks to a string of unsolved murders committed long ago by the Candy Corn Killer, who seems to have made a return just as Trent and Joey arrive. Fearing they’ll be blamed for the latests string of murders, the brothers go on a hunt to find the real killer before the locals discover their true identities.

Jeepers Creepers 2
Blu-ray (Collector’s Edition)
Director: Victor Salva
Screenwriter: Victor Salva
Cast: Ray Wise, Jonathan Breck, Lena Cardwell, Drew Tyler Bell
Distributor: Scream Factory
Rated R | 104 Minutes
Release Date: June 14, 2016

Disclaimer: In all good conscience, I cannot review Scream Factory’s new Blu-ray release of Jeepers Creepers 2 without mentioning filmmaker Victor Salva”˜s past. In 1988, Salva was convicted of sexual misconduct with the 12-year-old star of Clownhouse, his first feature film. Salva pleaded guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct, oral copulation with a person under 14, and three counts of procuring a child for pornography. He was sentenced to three years in prison, of which he served 15 months. He completed his parole in 1992, nine years before the release of Jeepers Creepers. I leave it to you to decide if separating the art from the artist is applicable in this instance.

New Poster For Adam Green’s ‘Digging Up The Marrow’
  |  @   |

An effectively creepy new poster has been released for Digging up the Marrow, the upcoming movie from Adam Green, writer and director of Hatchet, Frozen (no, not that one silly), and Hatchet II.

The movie has been on the way for a few years now, but hasn’t received much attention yet, which has been the intention. Green described the movie as an “art documentary” for a while, and despite a release fast approaching very little has been sent out to promote it including no trailer yet, creating a healthy dose of intriguing mystery around it.

What the movie is exactly is a bit tricky to explain, so I’ll let those behind its creation do it! You can check out the cool new poster for Digging up the Marrow, read more about it, AND watch a video of Green talking about the project and how it came to exist below.

FearNet Grabs Rights To Canceled CW Series ‘Reaper’; Plans Reunion Special
  |  @   |

Of all the shows that the CW Network has produced, Reaper was among the best. In fact, some would even argue it was the only show they’ve ever aired worth watching. It’s also a show that was canceled far too soon, after only two seasons. And like many other similar shows, fans were outraged and fought to see it revived, but to no avail, sadly.

Little has been heard of the show since its cancellation, but it doesn’t appear to be dead yet. At least not entirely dead (it’s only MOSTLY dead). According to reports, FearNet has made their first off-network deal, licensing the show.

The deal sees FearNet acquiring the rights to all 31 episodes of Reaper‘s two-season run to air, and they also will produce a brand new reunion special for fans.
