Universal has released a first look featurette Tom Hooper‘s film adaptation of Cats. Based on the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical which was inspired by on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot, the film will feature Lloyd Webber’s iconic music and a world-class cast of dancers, state-of-the-art technology, and dance styles ranging from ballet to contemporary, hip-hop to jazz, and street to tap to present the musical to a younger generation in a whole new way.
I can’t say I am overly familiar with Cats, but based on everything in the featurette, it will be using new tools and technologies to transform the actors into feline forms. Check the video below.
A couple of years back we found out that Veep director Chris Addison had signed on to direct a remake of the 1988 Michael Caine and Steve Martin movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson attached to star in the two lead roles.
At the time the movie was titled Nasty Women, but has since been changed to The Hustle. MGM has released an official trailer for the remake, and you can find it below along with a brief synopsis and a poster.

Although the Pitch Perfect films have never been strong on narratives or plots, their strength lies in the rapturous a cappella beats of top 40 cover songs and themes of friendship. That has been their constant, and it remains true in Pitch Perfect 3, where there is a razor-thin plot and a list of nonsensical things that don’t even belong in the film in the first place.
However, in its meta sense of humor and cheesiness, along with some rather fun a cappella music and those themes of friendship, Pitch Perfect 3 isn’t a forgettable jazzy blur but semi-entertaining sing-a-long that doesn’t quite remember where it came from. My full review below.
It’s hard to deny the absolute charm of Pitch Perfect, and because the first film was so successful, we got a trilogy. Though the second one was a somewhat flawed installment, it still had that hilarious chemistry between the cast. But the upcoming third promises to be the end of the Bellas, at least the ones that started this cinematic a cappella journey.
A new trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 just hit the web, and it reminds us of why this musical ensemble is not only hilarious, but also musically infectious. Check out the latest trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 here below.
