Juan Carlos Fresnadillo No Longer Directing ‘The Crow’ Reboot
  |

Relativity Media’s long-in-development reboot of The Crow, based on James O’Barr‘s 1989 independent comic book miniseries, has seen its fair share of talent attach and detach from this troubled project since it was first announced nearly three years ago.

First Stephen Norrington, the director of Blade and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, was given the directing reigns with screenwriter/musician Nick Cave (The Proposition) on scripting duty, but both left the project when the development stalled.

  |  @   |

A new video has been released on Mouth Taped Shut, a viral marketing Tumblr website for director David Fincher‘s remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, that shows some amazing metal posters being made for the movie. Even better, the almost four–minute video offers up a sample of Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross‘s score for the film.

Reznor and Ross are coming off of an Academy Award–winning collaboration on the score for Fincher’s last film, Best Picture nominee The Social Network. And as for where you can get one of these posters, that’s not yet known. But every movie fan is going to want one, that much is for sure.

You can check out this very cool video by heading on over to the other side now!

Universal Developing ‘Scarface’ Remake, But Doesn’t Want To Call It A “Remake”
  |  @   |

In a remake/reboot/sequel/prequel–happy Hollywoodland, nothing should come as shock or surprise anymore. That said, it still doesn’t mean people will be thrilled to hear about one of these popular types of movie, especially when it involves a classic…or in this case, two of them.

It’s being reported that Universal Pictures is developing a new updated take on Scarface, which has had two previous versions of the story made: the 1932 classic starring Paul Muni and directed by Howard Hawks, and the 1983 hit starring Al Pacino and directed by Brian De Palma.

  |  @   |

The cast for Columbia Pictures’ upcoming remake of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi classic, Total Recall, is coming together quite nicely so far. A couple of the larger roles have already been filled, and now it’s being reported that Ethan Hawke will be joining them.

It started with the signing of Colin Farrell to play the lead role of Douglas Quaid, a factory worker one day starts to think he might be a spy — only this time around it will take place right here on Earth instead of on the planet Mars, and Quaid will be trying to figure out if he’s working for the nation of Euromerica or New Shanghai.
