Knives Out

Rian Johnson‘s Knives Out is a deliciously twisted whodunit murder mystery in the same vein of an Agatha Christie novel, but with a modern touch. Though it does rely on many of those Christie tropes of a detective warning the audience about foul play, marking everyone as a suspect, and deliberately setting up all of the clues in plain sight. And true to form, though the film holds the audience’s attention by giving them a well-crafted intrigue that is set up by Johnson, the political subtext allows it to be much more than just a simple murder mystery. And it is able to stay constantly entertaining as it is full of unlikeable and very suspect characters, who are wonderfully played by an all-star cast, that not only keeps things funny, but will also have us guessing until the very end. Future ‘Star Wars’ Are On A Short Hiatus But Will Explore Possible Different Timelines
  |  @   |

Though Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, the Star Wars hype doesn’t stop there. It will live on through new stories that will be told by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Their new trilogies will expand the Star Wars universe in unimaginable ways. And though we know that the three are handling their own franchises, we know next to nothing about them. And probably won’t for a while since they are working on other projects – Johnson is finishing Knives Out, and Benioff and Weiss are overseeing the final season of Game of Thrones.

Luckily, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy provided some insight on what we can expect from their Star Wars projects and what it could mean for the franchise. Check out what she had to say below.

Late last night, a number of clickbait sites ran with a report that said The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson would be walking away from his own trilogy of Star Wars films due to creative differences.

With movie sites and social media quickly reacting to the rumor, Johnson himself took to Twitter to squash the rumor and confirmed that he will be working on the trilogy as soon as he is finished working on Knives Out. More on the report below.
