If you were the one of many who watched The Dark Knight Rises in glorious IMAX, then you may have noticed the genius music and the booming sounds coming from explosions, The Bat hovering over Gotham City, and Bane’s terrifying voice. And all of that came together perfectly thanks in part to director Christopher Nolan, music composer Hans Zimmer, and sound editor/sound designer Richard King. Now Soundworks Collection has released a video of how it all came together and you can check it out below.
King reveals that Nolan was playing this one pretty close to the chest, and went as far as not revealing the last few pages of the script to those who were involved with the filmmaking process. Despite not knowing how the film was going to end, King praises Nolan for being very involved with the science of the sound for The Dark Knight Rises. The sound editor also talked about how the different sounds pieced together the different elements (The Bat, Bane, etc.) of the film.
