At San Diego Comic-Con Sunday morning, the Supernatural panel won the Con by having Kansas perform live their hit and season-ending anthem, “Carry On Wayward Son!” I so wish I was there. Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. (Chuck/God and The Trixter/Gabriel & director of a few episodes), the Kings of Con, introduced the panel: EP’s Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb, the boys, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki, and to top it off, Misha Collins popped by.

Warning! Spoilers below for the season 12 finale of Supernatural!
Last time on Supernatural, hunters were being taken out – Eileen (Shoshannah Stern) got killed by a hellhound. Mary (Samantha Smith) dreamt she killed a hunter, but it wasn’t a dream. The British Men of Letters and Lady Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore) were brainwashing her. Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles) got the best of Bevell, but then Ketch (David Haydn-Jones) came and entombed all 3 of them in the bunker to die, with brainwashed Mary’s help. The power started to reverse between Crowley and Lucifer (Mark Sheppard, Mark Pellegrino), until Lucifer broke free and gleefully killed Crowley.
My favorite boys are back pretty soon, and it would not be Supernatural if one brother wasn’t going after another brother to save his life. The longevity of the show is due to its ability to still surprise you after all this time, even when the characters act predictably. Of course we already knew what Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) reaction was going to be… the Winchesters are our family too.
Supernatural was at San Diego Comic-Con Sunday, and this long-running fan fave shows no signs of slowing down. Although the Earth almost ended with the brother and sister team of God and the Darkness (Rob Benedict, Emily Swallow) squabbling, the season ended with a parting gift for Dean (Jensen Ackles)- his mother resurrected.
Supernatural Season 11 Episode 20: “Don’t Call Me Shurley”

Directed by Robert Singer

Starring Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, Ruth Connell, Mark Pellegrino The CW

Supernatural is winding down its 11th season, and it has been all about the darkness named Amara (Emily Swallow). God’s sister had been trapped for eons, until Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) mucked it up and let her out. They gambled with some bad beings, as usual, but Crowley and Lucifer and Rowena (Mark Sheppard, Mark Pellegrino, Ruth Connell) put together could not stop her. The brothers are trying to figure it out, but are still doing one-off cases in small town America – just another hunting day.
