The first casting for Amazon’s The Wheel of Time, a live-action TV series adaptation of author Robert Jordan‘s book series of the same name, has been confirmed.
It’s being reported that Rosamund Pike, the Oscar nominated star of Gone Girl, The World’s End, 2005’s Pride & Prejudice, Hostiles, A Private War, and much more, will star in the series. She’ll be playing the show’s central character, an Aes Sedai named Moiraine.
A teaser trailer has made its way online for Hostiles, a western drama from Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, and Black Mass director Scott Cooper starring Christian Bale.
The movie made waves with screenings at the Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, and it has been compared to the 1956 John Wayne classic The Searchers directed by John Ford.

“Love is the world’s infinite mutability; lies, hatred, murder even, are all knit up in it; it is the inevitable blossoming of its opposites, a magnificent rose smelling faintly of blood.” – Tony Kushner, The Illusion
Directed by David Fincher, Gone Girl is based on the 2012 novel by Gillian Flynn, who also wrote the screenplay. A dark, ominous mystery-thriller, Gone Girl fits perfectly within Fincher’s stylized oeuvre, which includes modern masterpieces like Se7en, The Game, Fight Club, and Zodiac.
On the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) discovers that his wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), is missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a perfect marriage begins to disintegrate. Soon his lies, deceits, and erratic behavior have everyone asking, “Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?”
Back in April we saw the first teaser trailer for Gone Girl, the upcoming mystery movie from Se7en and Zodiac director David Fincher. Now the first full trailer for the movie has been released, and can be watched below.
The movie stars Ben Affleck as a man at the center of the mystery of the disappearance of his wife (Rosamund Pike), with many people believing he’s actually the one responsible for her vanishing.
