Writer Andy Weir made a name for himself with his successful debut The Martian, a self-published novel about an astronaut stranded on Mars that went on to make the New York Times Best Seller list in 2014 when it was reprinted by Crown Publishing. The science fiction tale was a hit with readers, and was later adapted for the big screen with Matt Damon as the ill-fated spaceman. Now, Weir is back in the cosmos with his follow-up novel, Artemis, another scifi story, this time set in the near-future on Earth’s first and only colony on the Moon. ‘X-Men’ Spinoff ‘The New Mutants’ To Be A “Full-Fledged Horror” Film
  |  @   |

Unlike the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the X-Men ensembles have been pretty straightforward comic book flicks. The Wolverine and Logan had their own sub-genres while Deadpool was a comedic superhero film. Now The New Mutants, another spinoff, will take on a genre that’s never been seen in any of the X-Men films or spinoffs. Director Josh Boone says it will be a “full-fledged horror movie,” and that they are trying to do something much different.

Also, Rosario Dawson is in talks to have a leadership role in the film. More on these two stories below.

It wasn’t that long ago when The LEGO Movie burst into movie theaters with a million of bricks and an equal amount of laughs. What looked liked a bad idea at first turned out to be interlocking blocks of bubble gum pop and child-like nostalgia. Its success would, of course, give way for sequels and spinoffs, because that’s how successful movies work nowadays. And now we are getting a taste of that with The LEGO Batman Movie.

Sure enough, The LEGO Batman Movie proves that its predecessor was no fluke. It continues the tradition of capturing the child-like imagination of playing with these building blocks to construct a manically energized spinoff full of hilarious Batman references and self-deprecating humor. But it is also a visual bubble gum pop joy that has a heartfelt message and crazy action that can be damn near exhausting.

But at the end of the day, The LEGO Batman Movie is a pure delight that even non-Batman fans will enjoy. Check out the full review below.
