Based on the tragic events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, Everest is the story of two expeditions to the summit of Earth’s highest mountain, one led by Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) and the other by Rob Hall (Jason Clarke).

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband), Everest is a film about surviving incalculable risks in the most inhospitable conditions on the planet.

As head of the New Zealand-based Adventure Consultants, Rob Hall leads an expedition of men and women to the summit of Everest, which is 29,029 feet above sea level. As the experienced mountaineer explains to his clients, “Human beings simply aren’t built to function at the cruising altitude of a 747. Our bodies will be literally dying. Everest is another beast altogether.”

‘Everest’ Trailer: All-Star Cast’s Epic Journey To Climb The World’s Tallest Mountain

Ernest Hemingway said that “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” The spirit of that quote couldn’t be more true when trekking up a treacherous mountain like Mount Everest. But when you’ve reach the goal to get to the peak of the mountain, there is also a story to tell of the trip back to ground. Baltasar Kormákur‘s Everest will focus on that aspect of the story, which tells of the true-life drama of two team’s having successfully climbed the mountain, only to find out that the journey back down can be even more dangerous. The film will feature an all-star cast, and is considered by many to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana Confirmed For Three ‘Avatar’ Sequels

Director James Cameron has already confirmed that Stephen Lang will be returning for the the three planned sequels to his 2009 megahit Avatar, and now comes word that the original’s leads have been secured as well.

It’s being reported that both Sam Worthington, who plays Jake Sully, and Zoe Saldana, who plays Neytiri, have finalized their deals to return for Avatar 2, Avatar 3, and Avatar 4.

‘Sabotage’ Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger Has A $10 Million Secret

At this point in time Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s films after his years as governor have been less than stellar. The Last Stand and Escape Plan both performed below expectations. But that hasn’t necessarily discouraged the actor from continuing to do what he does.

Now in the David Ayers‘s Sabatoge, Schwarzenegger leads an elite DEA hit team (Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard, Mireille Enos, and Joe Manganiello) and successful raids a cartel’s safehouse. Together they uncover $10 million in cash, but instead of reporting to the authorities, the team hides it away. But before the dust can settle, members of the team start to be assassinated, and it’s up to Schwarzenegger to find out if it’s the cartel’s doing or if it’s someone from his own team.
