Night of the Living Dead: Re-animation is a prequel to a remake. You read that correctly, it is a prequel to a remake of Night of the Living Dead. And the end result is as tacky as it sounds. In fact, it’s so tacky, it’s terrible. Even Russo’s Return of the Living Dead series had some nice slapstick humor to refresh the load; in Re-animation, we’re stuck with a movie that amounts to nothing more than a stale fart. Though coupled with a few good performances and some reasonable CGI zombie effects, the plot is deficient in much substance and the social commentary is laughably bad.

Set before the events of 2007’s Night of the Living Dead 3D, Re-animation aims to give the back story of how it all began. Despite the goal, the movie does very little to accomplish this, being more of a standalone weird zombie flick than just has the classic movie titled tacked on. The tale begins in a mortuary, where corpses become reanimated into zombies. And that’s about as much of the plot I want to describe, simply because this movie has wasted enough of my time as it is.

Shatner: Recites Sarah Palin Tweets; Pressures HP
  |  @   |

We love a good Shatner story, and today we have a few to share with you.

Earlier this week, William Shatner made an appearance on The Tonight Show, where he recited Gov. Sarah Palin’s resignation speech as poetry. Palin had promised her supporters that she’d keep in touch via Twitter and she most certainly has been doing so. So, Shatner went on The Tonight Show again last night to recite her most interesting tweets.

You can watch both video segments here below.

In other Shatner news, the Star Trek vet put the pressure on Hewlett-Packard this week, leaving a company-wide voicemail message for staff of the computer giant.

“This is William Shatner. You, HP, promised me a toxic free computer by 2009. Now my friends at Greenpeace tell me I will have to wait until 2011. What’s up with that?… Please ask your leader, Mark Hurd, to make computers that are free of toxic PVC plastic and brominated flame retardants just as Apple has done.”

Video: Sarah Palin & Mark Walhberg Strike Back on ‘SNL’!
  |  @   |

After weeks of being lampooned on Saturday Night Live by Tina Fey, Gov. Sarah Palin finally struck back with her own appearance on the late night comedy show. Meanwhile, it only took one small skit about him to make Max Payne star Mark Wahlberg strike back. Below are the videos of these appearances from last night’s show.

Whether or not you agree with the Vice Presidential hopeful’s political platform (I sure don’t), you have to admit, she’s a charismatic lady (who’s probably better off going into showbiz, but that’s just my opinion). The Alaska governor first popped up during the show’s opening scene, where she watched from backstage, along with the show’s producer Lorne Michaels. Then, out pops Fey’s 30 Rock co-star Alec Baldwin, who recently did his own impression of Palin.

Video: Tina Fey as Sarah Palin Being Interviewed By Katie Couric on SNL
  |  @   |

In last night’s opening skit of Saturday Night Live former cast member Tina Fey made a second guest appearance as GOP Vice-Presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin.

Watch the video of it here below.

In the skit, Fey mocks the Alaska Governor’s recent one-on-one television interview with CBS’s Katie Couric (a very pregnant Amy Poehler plays Couric).

Fey’s portrayal is spot-on and hilarious, as she humorously responds to questions about foreign policy and the current financial crisis. To see just how well this skit was done, check out the actual 2-part Palin interview with Couric here below.
