Though we are still about five months away from the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the hype machine continues to run on all cylinders. Recently, a viral marketing campaign gave us a glimpse into the world of LexCorp. Then, a new rumor popped up hinting that Wonder Woman would take place months before the events of Batman v Superman, and that Batman has been observing Wonder Woman for some time.
In the months leading up to the film’s debut, we are likely to get even more trailers, clips, and other promotional items that will crack the DC Cinematic Universe wide open. Now a new set of images have appeared online, and Henry Cavill is talking a little bit about the highly anticipated sequel, and even a “prologue.” More on the story below.
It’s a banner week for viral marketing campaigns. Following the release of the Jaws 19 trailer to celebrate the 30 Anniversary of Back To The Future, Warner Bros. has unveiled a viral marketing campaign of their own to promote the upcoming release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Their latest push takes the form of an exclusive interview between Fortune Magazine and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). Based on what we saw in the last trailer, Eisenberg won’t be anything like the quiet Mark Zuckerberg we saw in The Social Network, instead he looks to be more ruthless and cunning, but still having that cool-guy vibe. If anything the latest profile piece will give us some insight as to what kind of Lex Luthor we will see in the film. Check it out below.
In the past few weeks, director Zack Snyder confirmed rumors that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would focus more on Batman than Superman. He explained that to help establish the Dark Knight as a character who existed long before Superman saved the Earth, we would need to “understand where Batman is with everything.” Of course with Ben Affleck signed on for a trilogy of Batman films plus other Justice League projects, Superman fans are beginning to lose hope for a sequel to Man of Steel, especially since WB doesn’t have any real plans for Superman after Justice League.
But consider the newest report a strange sign of hope. Snyder has gone on record to clarify that BvS is in actuality Man of Steel 2. More on the story here below.
It was only a matter of time before these superhero films started focusing on title heroes facing off against one another instead of the generic villain. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be one of the first films to use that concept for the big screen.
Ben Affleck plays the current iteration of the Dark Knight, who is said to be “tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for a while.” The actor recently signed on to write and direct the first of a trilogy of Batman films that doesn’t include the quasi-Man of Steel sequel – to which WB still has to figure out if Man of Steel 2 will actually be released. Following the huge success of The Dark Knight trilogy, fans are just itching to see what Affleck does in this film, and based on a rumored screening reaction, it looks like WB may want director Zack Snyder to have Batman v Superman focus more on the Dark Knight than the Man of Steel. As far as many of the press junkets go, if you are a talent attached to a superhero film that is a part of the shared universe, chances are you are going to be asked about said superhero film. Some may answer, some play dodge, and some may not answer at all because of an NDA agreement they signed. Recently, we saw just how powerful the internet voice can be when Michael Shannon talked about having flippers for hands in Batman v Superman. So was he becoming Black Manta or something else entirely?
Well, during the press tour for 99 Homes, the actor is “setting the record straight” by admitting that he wasn’t even a part of the filming process for BvS. More on this below.
