Netflix has announced that they have acquired a movie titled Red Notice, which comes from Dwayne Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber. The pair has worked together twice in recent years on Central Intelligence and Skyscraper. Johnson stars and produces the feature, while Thurber writes, directs, and produces.

Also set to star is Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. The movie is described as a “globetrotting action-thriller” in which Johnson plays an agent who has been tasked with pursuing the world’s most wanted art thief.

It’s being reported that Universal Pictures and Microsoft are developing a movie based on the hit video game franchise Gears of War.

The movie comes from producers Scott Stuber (Ted, The Wolfman), who’s been attached to the project for a few years now, and Dylan Clark (Patriots Day, Planet of the Apes reboot).

A movie adaptation of the hit video game series Gears of War is no new thing—first being picked up by New Line Cinema in 2007, with Len Wiseman (Underworld, Total Recall [2012]) set to direct. As with many recent video game hits, a movie version has been discussed many times, and, just like most of them, the Gears attempt has found no success in making it to the silver screen.

But that Hollywood machine does not give up so easily.

It’s being reported that Scott Stuber has now taken hold of the project, and is now working with Gears of War developer Epic Games to develop a new attempt at making the movie a reality.
