Those watching the Oscars last night might have caught a glimpse of Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King. The film is a CGI remake of the 1994 Academy Award-winning animated film that centered on a young lion cub being groomed to be king of Pride Rock. This new look may feel like familiar territory considering a lot of the footage in it was already seen in the initial teaser trailer. However, it all seems like its setting up for something bigger. Robert Kirkman‘s Invincible is just another one of his comic book properties that are heading to TV. Although, this one will be just a little bit different as it is being designed as an animated series. Still, that doesn’t make it any less interesting, as noted by the stellar voice cast. New reports say that Steven Yeun, who had a starring role in The Walking Dead, the the AMC television show adapted from Kirkman’s comic book series, has landed the lead voice role. Amazon has released a new teaser for The Boys, the upcoming TV series adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s comic of the same name.

The series is created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke. It’s the second TV series based on a comic that’s been created by Rogen and Goldberg, following the AMC series Preacher. Kripke will handle showrunner duties.

Disney’s animated classic The Lion King has been reimagined as a new live-action style film from director Jon Favreau, who helmed the studio’s live-action makeover of The Jungle Book. Now the studio has just released the first look at the new Lion King in the form of a teaser trailer. For New York Comic-Con 2018, Amazon Prime Video released the first teaser for The Boys from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Pineapple Express, This Is the End).

The series, like Rogen and Goldberg’s Preacher, is a comic book adaptation. It’s based on the comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, which tells the story of a group of vigilantes who are on a mission to deal with out of line superheroes.
