She-Ra Netflix 02

Growing up in the early to mid 1980s one thing was for sure, the cartoons were epic! Nothing was better than coming home from school right in time to watch the 2-hour block of cartoons: She-Ra, He-Man, Thundercats, and Voltron. Now just as I grew up with those classic shows, my kids get to grow with the latest incarnations thanks to Netflix. Last week on November 13th, season one of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power hit the streaming service. Each of the 13 episodes is 24 minutes long, mirroring a typical weekday afternoon cartoon minus commercials.

I was never a huge He-Man or She-Ra fan, folks. I was actually a teenager when the cartoons were coming out. I was quite familiar with the Mattel toys, though. My youngest brother, Michael, possessed any number of the action figures and accessories prior to the airing of the cartoons. So while some folks are consumed with nostalgia for this franchise, I am not one of them. I do, however, acknowledge the impact it had on fans. That and Castle Grayskull was kind of badass.

But anyway, we are here to discuss He-Man and She-Ra: A Complete Guide to the Classic Animated Adventures so keep on reading for the skinny on this amazing book!

Funko Skeletor

In the coming months, Funko will be releasing tons of ’80s-themed vinyl POP! figures to decorate the shelves of your geek lair. From He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power: He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Hordak, and a personal favorite of mine, Spikor. I’m going to go broke buying up these endlessly cute, absurdly awesome vinyl toys!

In addition to the Masters of the Universe gang, we’ve got collectables of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and ’80s pop culture mainstays for RoboCop, Aliens, and Predator. Hopefully they come out with additional Aliens designs for Ripley, Hicks, Newt, Hudson, and Vasquez! Not to mention, a POP! version of a power loader would be pretty epic.

You can pre-order Funko’s latest vinyl collectables (or check out what’s currently available) at the Entertainment Earth links here below; check out the designs here below too.
